Even Volvo had the 240GT, I'm pretty sure they did nothing to earn it!

Yup and Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati, De Tomaso and Bizzarrini have used it as well – although I think their ones were Gran Turisimo Sports.

Ferrari have been using GTO for 50 years, Bentley with the Continental GT, Jaguar with SS.
I don't think their exclusive to any make.

They've used it 3 times. And the recent 599 GTO smacks of marketing cynicism, what class are they homologating it for? The 250 & 288s were Omoglamato for a reason.

And the Pontiac GTO? More cynicism. Especially the recent Monaro reboot.

LOL at the lamo who shows his prejudice to Holdens by saying they didnt 'earn' the GT label. lol, there are even $5000 new 2011 Chinese motorcycles that have 'earned' the right to use GT on their products, right up there with brands like Ducati, but it seems to this one bloke, that Holden arent even as credible as chinese motorcycle companies. LOL again at his prejudice.
