Always better off having a car that can actually go through shopping centers/etc, than having one thats dumped on it's ***.

Sometimes a neater 'low' car looks better than one that's dumped on it's ***. Gives it a sportier looks. Depends on what you like though I suppose.

Does putting different shocks in it make a difference in the height? I put, what I thought were ultra lows in my car, but it's not exactly as low as I thought it would be. Don't know if it's because I still have the stock shockers in.

Sometimes the shocks can bring it down just slightly more, but it won't make that much of a difference. My main reasoning for replacing the shocks is that it's a 17 year old car, the front shocks had been replaced once, but all the shocks had still seen better days. I did it mostly for safety (also on that topic, I realised how thin my brake discs are looking, so they're next up for replacement... if I'd done it before, it probably would have saved me a LOT of money)

Yeah, I knew you were kidding. It's just sarcasm doesn't work too well on the forums... It did take about 3 years! I've been driving that car for 5 years, but my parents owned it for the first 2 of those years, so no mods happened in that time. Plenty been happening recently though

Nope ive got 15's as well. My rides pretty rough and a bit bouncy so i think my shocks are farged. Maybe thats got something to do with it?

Looks great, I forgot just how LONG SLS springs actaully are, I couldn't believe the springs wouldn't come out either without spring compressors or virtually removing the diff.

Took a little longer then I expected, but was a pretty smooth job all in all, and the end result was definitely worth it.

Definately was. Thanks for the help, Jason. It's good to have a car that looks better, handles better, rides better (not as bouncy), and doesn't squeak everytime you go over a slight bump.

Here's another photo, from down lower. Hope this one's better

And another before pic

In my opinion, I'm loving how the back is sitting. It's exactly how I wanted it. I would have preferred it if the front sat a little bit lower though. Hopefully once it settles, it'll end up how I want it

How good is the feeling when your've just changed the rear springs over and its still up on the jack, then you lower the jack and the car just keeps going down!! I loved that moment when I got my Lows in the rear of mine!

Awesome Dezza, looks great. But he's still not as bad as I am, it took me almost 6 years to lower mine!

That was an awesome feeling. I was expecting it to stop and still see about 2" between the tyre and guard but it just kept going!

Thanks Alex. True that it took you longer. I've been driving it for 5 years, but with my parents owning it for the first 2, I couldn't do much then. I'm glad I didn't go superlows though because I don't want to risk having the same dramas you had with the LTD. BTW. Hope you get it back on the road soon

Cheers Paul. Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the rideheight. One day I might consider V8 superlows for the front (halfway between lows and superlows). Should sit pretty even then. I'm glad the hotrod style high at the front, ultrahigh at the back is gone!

Thanks mate! The Scorcher bar arrived yesterday. I just need to save up to paint it, and get some panelbeating done on the front (chassis rails are a little bent, so the bumper sits a little bit crooked at the moment). Unfortunately, I have an excess to pay first so it may take a while before I get the Scorcher bar on.

Cheers Damo. What I meant with that comment was that because of the extra weight of the V8 engine, they use different front suspension. That means superlows for the V8s were slightly higher to offset the extra weight.
