XBOX 360 or PS3

PS3 all the way !!!

I think this because of

The online play
The Bluray games and movies
The internet Explorer or what u may call it already on it
You can attatch anything bluetooth eg. mouse, keyboard etc.
And if you have friends you can add them and talk to them with (somthink like Msn)

Xbox 360 is bad because:

1 in 3 is faulty
Microsoft gets very annoying
and you have to pay for Xbox Live

So go ps3
and :Xbox 360

Have both (and a wii paperweight) ps3 gets less than 5% of the game usage. Gets used for blue rays sometimes. The online service on the Xbox is 20 times as good.

Only got the 360 because my mates all had one, its got a better range of games over the ps3, Absolutly hated the controller at first but it has grown on me. Before that i was def a PS fan. The controller may be old but it's well crafted and easy to use!

I am not a console gamer. In fact, I'm vehemently opposed to it because its rise has been at PC gaming's expense.

I don't think the PS3 is really worth buying JUST for the Blu-Ray, as to make good use of it, you need a good TV for it...in my household, a good TV is the one in my room that I won 7 years ago...51cm CRT Panasonic flat-screen. WOW!

But I would go the PS3 purely for reliability.

And if you haven't played the first two Fallouts, then get off Fallout III and see what a REAL post-apocalyptic world is about.

With all that said, owning a PS3, and being very brand loyal. I still find it hard to motivate myself to play it. I'll buy a game, play it for a few weeks.. then the system sits gathering dust for months.

Xbox 360 reliability issues are all worked out. So using the reliability thing as an excuse not to buy is void.

I've got the toughest Xbox 360. I got the HALO 3 edition green one. Reason is cause the white one stands out way too much. I got a green controller and a black one.

I've own a PS1 as well. I bought that purely for the very first Colin McRae Rally.

I have a PS3. I use it mostly for music and movies but like the fact that I can play games with it. I also like the PS controller better than any other.

I have a Full 1080p TV and DVDs look very good when upscaled so I can't wait till I buy some Blurays.

The only annoying thing I have noticed is that it chugs when there is a lot of action. Eg GTA:IV chugs hard when there are heaps of cops cars crashing into you :

Man i absolutely hear you loud and 5X5 the first Colin Mcrae Rally was the bomb,but fug Halo 3 it's a "Good Game" but G.O.W. 1 and 2 kick it's head in man.Absolutely no contest.

XBOX is the go, look at alot of forums, the game play has higher fps and more detail, in games like GTA4, fallout 3 etc.

I love gran turismo series though, so when GT5 is out i will get a PS3, hopefully they arent as rediculously dear by then..

I'd go XBOX all the way.
The console is half the price, and if you look around you can find some packs with some awesome included games.
The games come in at around $20 less then PS3 at JB
And the online game play is fantastic.

The reliability thing is a moot point for me. I have a friend who's PS3 cracked it and even though it was only 6 months after he bought it and well with the warranty Sony denied it was a fault and told hime he must have done something abnormal to break it.
Ended up costing him almost what a new console was worth just to fix a vid card issue!

And for anybody that doubts how good a game can be on XBOX.... 3 words....

i was in the same situation i ended up buying a ps3 purely for the blu-ray.

Havent even opened the box yet haha...

But at the end of the day ps3 hasnt been out for aslong.. xbox has been out for a while... so i think there is alot more potential for the ps3 to come alive...

It's been out for nearly 2.5 years and had developers writing software for it a hell of a lot longer. How much longer do you think we'll have to wait to realise the potential of the PS3?

All up the Xbox360 is a way better console then the PS3, has way more games, has better quality of games, and is way cheaper for basically simular performance.

The Blu-ray argument is over now days as you can buy a stand-alone, better blu ray player as well as and xbox360 for around the same price as a single PS3, decision is pretty simple to me.

Both concoles have there select few games that only come out on that specific console (personally I wouldn't buy a gaming console puirelly for one specific game, what happens if the game is crap than you've wasted best part of $600). I have owned every gaming console since the sega master system and I will stand by the PS3. Sure PS3 doesn't have as many games as the xbox 360 but the xbox 360 has also been out longer than the PS3. Thats like comparing the amount of PS2 games you can buy compared to the xbox 360.

The problem for Playstation, or the issue rather, is the price. For most people wanting a next gen console they don't see any reason to spend a few extra hundred bucks for the PS3. And I doubt most Baby-Boomer, Gen X parents see the point in shelling out $200+ more for the PS3 over the 360 for the kids.

Just think back to the N64 vs Playstation days. If the prices were significantly different between them, and we had to pay a few more hundred bob for the luxury of playing a CD and opening the door to modding the playstation, there could be a very different landscape today with Nintendo gaining the lead in the late 90s.

PS3 like all Playstation's are thankfully good for the long haul. The biggest opportunity lies in selling and marketing the PS3 as a lifestyle system, rather than simply a gaming device as most people know it as. Ipod is just a Mp3 player, yet brilliantly marketed as more. And unlike the 360, PS3 looks good and can blend into more modern lounge rooms and units without sticking out like the 360 in contrast. Potentially its a storage system, and with the addition of the HD Tuner and recorder... its a Tivo. If and when it comes out.

I have a PS3 : i mainly play shooter games like Socom Confrontation... but i also play some other games like: gtaiv, fallout3 and will get gran turismo when it comes out (maybe some other car type games if there are going to be anygood ones).

The Online multiplayer lag sh*ts me when it happens and the lack of games to play on it has been a problem : but there is a fair few more games out now.

all its other features and upcoming ones like play tv (which turns it into a PVR) sort of make up for its problems.

Don't get me wrong i have played Xbox & 360 at friends houses but i just cannot get used to the controller..
