$2/litre is still cheaper and less hassle than replacing a blown head gasket from the inconsistent, rapidly evaporating 98 Octane pump fuel.

Only ten short years ago I used to drive out onto the tarmac at Bathurst airport and fill my XT from the bowser. Dont think I would be able to do that anymore.

Not a problem. All you need is an ASIC, an airside driving permit, $10,000,000 insurance, a "genuine reason" and a LOT of time to waste while waiting for the various government peasants to get around to processing your paperwork.

avgas is being phased out due to the lead..

you can get limited quanitites if your racing category still allows it .. not for much longer...

you can actually make more power on PULP depending on your setup..

may be the right time to change over.. normally the issue is valve seats.

normaly the issue is compression most people build there motors these days with hardened seat bronze valve guide and s/s valves anyway

AVGAS will never be phased out. Despite all the screaming and whinging by the greenies neither lycoming nor continental will certifiy their engines for new fuels. Due to this any aircraft that are piston driven will be uninsurable if leaded avgas is not used.

Banning leaded AVGAS will ground almost all of the of the GA fleet in Australia instantly.
