I think it means that a All Ford Day should have had 100% support of the local dealership., ie cars, organising, banners, flags etc.

Except that was not the case!

Guys re Hillis Ford.

Today I have sent a letter to Tom Gorman explaining a few things, one of which was the Hillis situation. I am also aware of a few members on here who have contacted CRC etc about Hillis Ford.

I have no problem with this but please keep a level head if you're going to do it. The last thing we need is a bunch of people sending stupid things to Hillis or Ford about it - yes they are in the wrong and they have no combeack against us, lets keep it that way.

I am all for people demonstrating their frustration at Hillis pulling the pin when they did, believe me I am ****ed about it, but please just be careful about how you do it. And dont expect a reply.

I am now locking in a tentative date for the 2006 show which is Saturday, November 11th 2006. This date is not 100% confirmed as I still have to check if there are other events on that weekend, but if there isnt we'll go with it.
There will also most likely be a new venue for the show in 2006 - will still be in Wagga though, closer to the centre of town.

I appreciate the offers of help and support from all and when the time comes I'll be speaking to you about it, it is true many hands do make light work but at the same time I would like to retain control over the day, simply because too many cooks can result in one very spoiled broth.

Lots of time to work it all out though.

Hi Guys,

What the deal with Hillis Ford? Maybe a quick outline of what happened or a copy of the letter to Gorman?

I'm concerned that someone has been left holding a financial can for a day that we all enjoyed.

Again, sorry if this has been discussed in detail somewhere else, or if it's none of my business.

To cut a long story short, the Ford dealer in question withdrew his support for the alll ford day within the last week prior to the event. It is an issue being delt with by b2f. I don't find it necessary to go into any further depth on this topic....

It was an absolutely fantastic day, well done to everyone involved!

Hi Paul,

there are a number of issues relating to Hillis Ford's involvement in the day. In the interests of not complicating it any further I wont go into detail about it, and I would also ask all FFAU members to be a bit discrete about this. We are in the clear, we have done nothing wrong, lets keep it that way. You never know who is watching...

What would the chances of holding the AFD at Bolton Park near the aeroplane or the Bolton park carpark???? That would be ideal....plus no one could miss it....with passing traffic.

Gday Brad - i recognise that car. Have seen it punting around town and it looks great on the road.

Lets just say that you and I are thinking very closely along similar lines as to the next venue. Very closely indeed. :monkes:

with bolton park, how would you restrict people from just wondering in?? (assuming you were still having $2 entry)

Agree'd Pete, the main problem with a park like that is restricting entry.
We had the same problem with our show.
But the majority of people are prepared to come up with 2 bucks.

Don't know what people think about putting it on a long weekend and holding it on a Sunday rather then a Saturday. I didn't get to the show this year due to work, and have spoken to people who either didn't get there due to work or by the time they got there the amount of cars left wasn't great. Or make it a day and a half show, though that would be more expensive and harder to co-ordinate.

I like the idea about having it on a Sunday, but that stops a lot of people from making the longer trips, i.e some may not want to leave so late on a Sunday for work on a Monday 500k's away....

Funny this has come up, was actually talking to some people about it yesterday. I personally dont mind what day it is on - either Sat or Sun is fine by me - it really depends on what is easiest for the travellers to the show.
