One of the guys at work is a AMG nut, has had the 6.3 E series, now has 2 C63 (his and hers, claims they are the best cars he's ever had - previoulsy had a 430 Ferrari along with a Maseratti GT, no BS I'm serious). When he rocks up at work some days it serioulsy sounds like a Nascar on overrun. After driving and hearing them. I wouldn't chose anything else. Conceptually a simple car, point and squirt, not a million options like the M5 and Jaguar wouldn't have anywhere near the same budget to develop their XFR compared to BMW and Merc.

The crazy panel gaps on the AMG ruin it for me. Maybe in black it could look OK..

The jag is a wonderful car , a mate has one BUT way to quite , internally under full go it's way to quite , smooth and remarkably powerful though

What year is your mates car? I tested a 2012 XFR a couple of months ago and was surprised at how loud it was...

^^2010 model XFR I evaluated some time back was quieter than I would have liked and the steering feel was too light, otherwise it was an incredibly impressivle vehicle. If I had the money to run two Euro cars I'd be into it quicker than the blink of an eye. Maybe they've changed the exhaust system a bit on the 2012 XFR's ?

Agree that the XFR-S with ~ 410 Kw's and the new 8 speed ZF will address the performance imbalance. If you're comparing that car with the AMG upgraded 410KW Mercedes-benz CLS 63 then I'd have no choice but to flip a coin as chosing between them would do my head in something terrible.

Sorry for the late reply, been on the road the last three weeks.

So here comes the XFR-S, it'll be a 2014 model, but that just means available 2nd half of 2013, not long to wait!

Look at that wing, reminds me of my T3 TE50

Should be a monster...

I would need Mercedes 6.2L V8 in the M5.

The Jag has a small wing option... which most would pick.

Wow, that wing there fixes the rear end for me!

I wanna hear this car! Hope it sounds as good as the AMG 6.2 does in the E63.

But I'd take the E63 Wagon, that would be an awesome car with a slight lift and mudflaps, man what fun I'd have on dirt roads!
