Many people say the 40th anniverary GT- looked good in the black and old and introduced the R-Spec suspension- but of course was based on a GT spec car. Then you have the Cobra which got the 302 KW engine and the R Spec- but still based on a GT. But after those, you could get only 75 GTPs with the 302 as the end of the run- with the 6 pot Brembos, the better seats and other standard GT-P features. Really, other then the paint work, the best of both the 40th anniversary and the Cobra. And there is still one out there we are keeping an eye on that is a 302 GTP AND with the R spec factory fitted. If I can get into my garage, I will.

good point man this throws a spanner in all the comments flying around here.

I'm thinking grabbing one of the latter F6's before they switch to the Twin Turbo V6 in 2010. There are going to go out with a bang and that'll be the one to grab. By that stage, there will be 50 years of history behind that I6 block..... Yeah, similar things to the last of the 5.4's before they upgrade, but the I6 is a fair dinkum bit of Aussie pride..... Just my thoughts to the question asked in the opening post....

Switching camps for a second... One of the early HSV Coupe GTS' would be my pick. Wasn't cheap at $100k but it's power was way above anything before it. And the brakes were simply huge. 2 cents inserted.

The prices are "relative".

Worth a Mint? In relative terms a "Walky" is worth less today than when they were new.. you're forgetting about inflation...
the australian inflation rate between 1970-80 averaged between 6% & 10%
averaged between 4%-8% in the the 80's
2.3% between 92-99
it now sits at about 3% from mind. so the Walkinshaw Group A ss was worth $47k new and is now worth upto $81K according to Redbook. i reckon thats pretty good turnaround.

I would store a FPV Force 8 with the BOSS 302 motor. They couldn't have made more than 10. Anybody here own one?
