Love it, best Falcon ad I've seen in years. Drawing on heritage certainly gets me all excited and I wasn't even born when XRGT or XYGT were released. I believe this type of advertising could do a lot for Falcon in general....they should give it a shot in prime time TV, during the footy or certainly during a motor racing event (any) and see what the reaction is.

Man, how good is that Vermillion Fire XYGTHO.

Obviously.

They'll find it hard to enforce that clause considering he was retrenched as opposed to leaving of his own free will.

Not sure really.

A 911 Porsche buyer is not cross-shopping a similar priced Lotus Evora

I don't think a Ford lover [most of us] would buy a Holden or Chrysler no matter what the price difference.

The HSV's are bogan butt ugly

The Chrysler is to much of a orphan in Australia, very little back up and/or market support

FPV Wins!

I think all of the GT's that appeared made the FG look tame.

They should just have it line up against a HSV at the quarter mile and show it pulling away. Done.

Then maybe on a track pulling away down the straight from a HSV. Done

Like the ad until Moffat appears, would rather see Frosty in the ad.

Let's keep this thread on track.
We are here to discuss the ad itself - NOT what may / may not be transpiring with FPV, or its personel.
Until any of those things are officially announced / confirmed, they are no more than rumours..

Mate, it is confirmed.

Also on Barrett's personal Linkedin page, he has changed his status to unemployed and as being retrenched on the 28th.

Unless it is directly quoting the MD of Prodrive who hold the larger stake in FPV, therefore I would think a statement from them would suffice?

I don't think it healthy to scuttle all and any debate and conversation on a topic directly related to Ford/FPV, nothing posted is against site T&C and it is a current motor industry related news topic.

Isn't that what the forum is for after all?

NOR do I believe it healthy to promote, or encourage debate, and conversation about a topic which realistically noone, apart from the real stakeholders / individuals involved have the true facts about.

Rumour mongering, & gossiping whilst perhaps entertaining is not a core ideal of Australian Ford Forums...

But then this is off topic...

I thought this forum was for debate to close threads or censor those who choose to voice their opinions over something which is no longer speculation smacks of dictatorship. What we know is the MD and at least 15 staff at FPV have been retrenched, no question, but that doesn't mean the end of FPV , maybe just a new beginning and a new direction.
But we should be able to debate it without the moderators getting their proverbial in a twist.

Perhaps then an idea would be, instead of carrying a large stick and smacking it down on tables, posting a thread by admin in The Pub outlining what is reportedly going on?

Would stop a lot of the hype over what is essentially at the minute a restructure of a business model.

Which is exactly why the admin/mod team "dictators" as many may like to label us, have been handling this 'turn of events' as we have...
The facts as we know them have been tabled...

Well then, hope you have a full team to try to quell what is going to be one of the biggest conversation starters amongst Ford fans in 2012.

I certainly don't think FPV are going to become extinct , far from it, but I believe they may change direction and as yet we don't know how. What I do know is for some unknown reasons some on here do not want us to debate it and the fact that whether we maybe right or wrong it wont make one iota of difference to the outcome.
The same as many other topics we discuss only this one seems very touchy for some.
