Hulk for a little perspective on your viewpoint, what do you do for a crust?

Also, if that story about your mate above is true your mate would be best off working in a slightly more mature company that doesn't have its head stuck in a 50yr old class mentality.

so you drive a Territory now, so I can assume you are a stay at home mum, as up that is the general consensus for those type of cars with a lot of car enthusiasts

We'll I'd say he is not a CEO or anywhere near close because I'd be fairly confident people in such positions have little time to spare on threads such as this

Yeah I did. Did you choose to read the original post?
Talking about ceo-gm of ANY company, not major companies not personal attacks on what the OP drives. Thats the way I read it.

Guy I worked for a month ago rocked up in a new Audi, it was a powerful move. I don't think it matters what car an executive drives though.

you are not quite making senses with your posts

I maintain many Territory's and know they are owned by a range of owners, both male and females, as well as many other types of cars from Hyandai's to a Roll Royce, do I treat any of them differently?
NO
Why?
Because the car somebody drives is not important and does not make them something they are not

When I used to turn up to work in my old EL XR6, my coworkers would come up and ask questions about it, admire it, etc. I never experienced any judgment or negativity.

Maybe you need to re-evavluate who you associate with, Hulk.

Unfortunately that's not the real world. First impressions and image are everything. I've met many builders for eg, and large public company stake holders who worry about buying a car(or being seen in it) that makes it look like they are expensive to hire, because they charge too much and therefore make too much.

Then there's lawyers and real estate agents for eg. They need to be seen as Sucsessful, so premium cars are a must. I had a friend who got a great leg up into a realestate job, he took a huge loan for a euro car and it's paid itself off just as you'd expect.
So there are certain examples where it's very relevant. Obviously if no body sees your car it's a non issue.

If only more people paid attention and read the thread topic better, instead of turning into mouth watering children who see another chance to attack others it'd be far nicer to read these threads!

On another note....as discussed earlier......if anyone worked for me,and the car you drove needed to reflect the companies high quality ideals and image......and you turned up in an AU falcon I'd fire you. Unless it was a window washing company or a toilet company.:
But I don't think that was the ops intention.

I'm sure he meant....where IMAGE is APPLICABLE, is car choice important?

Funny story....the guy I bought my G6et off bought it brand new. He was executive director for a company that sold....wait for it.....HSVs . Only mark on the car was the inside drivers door trim spear that was abused by a presumably Rolex watch hitting it a billion times.

But that's not funnier then saying the Au is the best falcon.. Nothing wrong with a good T series tho. They're badass.

tbh? I got no idea if 'the car suits the man' so to speak, Partner's dad is an executive manager (or something to that effect) and he has a HSV VE Senator that's had all the work done by HSV. Don't really recall him using it for anything, apart from scraping the Rim's on the concrete gutters in his building's carpark. (cars that big that it can barely fit.) Good ol' Milsons point parking.

Mostly he does deal interstate, so ends up with a rental car. No idea what kind though.

I`ve never judged a person by the car they drive, but maybe how they drive and look after the vehicle. That tells me a lot about the person and company. If person A drives a shmick Falcon and person B drives a hot but dirty Luxo with Macca wrappers on the floor...
No contest.

Most general managers/ company executives don't put their personal lives out on the table. Any hob knobs I see where I work are always flown in and grab a hire car. A car is a means of transport nothing more. A company exec could turn up to work on the bus. It is about the man themselves.

Actually the smart executives would drive something simple and reinvest that money into something that makes money !!! Rather than waste it on ***** like flashy cars. They also tend to package such items or pay reduced amounts for them as a appropriate.

Is this a fishing exercise to see how many people know executives ???

I've always believed that a professional in a high position should look at a respectable vehicle in a higher spec, but not the gauche and glittery top spec scream from the hills models; per example, the father of a friend of mine owns a prominent real estate firm in Melbourne's East, And (despite the fact he can afford it) he drives an ML500 Mercedes Benz with some tasteful options, rather than the AMG ML65.

I am somewhat in the position of which you speak Hulk, and when last year the time came to buy a new company vehicle for the business, personally I chose a mid spec V6 Tdi Touareg with some nice option packs rather than the "look at me" Touareg R.

Just because you can afford the AMG's or the top spec "look at me" models doesn't mean you should. An extremely important part of being in this position in my opinion is showing respectful restraint, especially when dealing with clients and employees. Leave the AMG ML's, X6 M's and Touareg R's to the classless nouveau riche and drug dealers.

Mark Zuckerberg attends meetings usually wearing t-shirt/jeans/vans, know idea what he drives though. I could imagine what people sitting around the table wearing a Versace/Rolex would have initially thought ''Who's this piece of &^%$''. Attitudes quickly changed once they realised he could buy the entire room out and not even notice any funds missing.

And i'm the culprit and your Apologising to op

HULK will always keep coming back and people will comment on him not the thread itself and he knows it too well that's he post these kind of threads

is there a build thread on his cars ???

The mods must be soft in the way the handle banning him and he turns up weeks later. You wouldn't do that in another Forums, not the ones i'm on anyway

unless Hulk is smarter then we think

geez got that of my chest, i'm going to have a break from this Forum for awhile
