I always thought that the rear-view mirror was much more appropriate for it! Especially since you have the outside wing mirror too that you can angle lol. If you try hard enough you can even get the passenger side mirror aimed at yourself, so you an see yourself in 3 different angles before even thinking about the mirror on the sunvisor!

Seriously tho, the sunvisor mirror is just annoying, centre rear view mirror works best ;)

i dont know if that last part was a dig , what i was getting at is anything can happen if you are dedicated enough to it , if you like cars does it matter if people dont have faith in you ? i dont think it does just as long as you have faith in yourself thats all that matters

If you want to be a mechanic I say go for it....just don't bring the whole sexism crap into any workshop (unless a real issue arrises....then i say go for it)....I have been in the Aircarft industry for 8 years....and this whole topic of sexism crap is micro managed to the point where you can't even have a Picture or People mag in the MENS toilet.....honestly get over it.....if you wish to work in a male dominated industry put up with it.....you cant change an industry where you are the minority....it just wont happen...Chances are if you are good at your job all will be good and you will have the respect of both males and females.....but if you drag the chain be prepared to cop it....thats for both males and females!!!

Thats my 2 cents.....the more tradies in Australia the better!!!

Yeah, but as a guy, if you sit there and look at yourself in the vanity mirror you get odd looks... but if you use the rear view mirror you can disguise it as a legitimate reason to be admiring your own beauty ;) lol.

I see a lot of females driving previous icons of male hetrosexuality. I know a lot of gay men that drive them too. XR's, V8's, HSV's, FPV's, utes etc.

I would now argue there is now no car that defines masculinity. Except for the 911 which is almost exclusively driven by lanky middle aged balding men.

Some people link masculinity with the car they drive. This has been wrong for several decades. Women have been allowed to drive masculine pitched cars for a long time now.

Toughness and masculinity are determined more than just what you wear, the car you drive and the tattoo you have.

Women working as mechanics doesn't seem like much of a barrier. Real jobs women will have massive problems working in is things like brickies/builders labourer, physicist, model steam train hobbyist.

Oh how little you know about me... lol. I'm actually just checking out the leather in my XR6T and the rear spoiler... and angling the mirrors so I can see the bright Blueprint paint along the sides ;) lol

lol - tax it all you want, I tax people day in and day out ;)

Belive me, it would be enough to start people screaming in fear!

If you think the Automotive sector is difficult for women to get into. Don't even think about the ultimate last basitan of maleness that is the antique steam engine clubs.

There are more males in them than at a line at a prostate checking clinic.

However, model steam engines haven't been a something a whole lot of people are interested in anyway let alone females.

To me that is part of masculinity in a odd sort of way. To love weird machinery that much. Weird unsexy machinery. And spend many many thousands on it, building your house around it. Pure eccenticity seems to be the domain of the male.

Anyone can love a V8 5.4L GT-P with 290 kw.

Can you love a 50 year old 5 litre single cylinder 2 stroke diesel tractor the same way? How about a stirling cycle engine? How about the rush of watching a stationary tripple expansion engine plying its reason for being.

How come all the girls are saying it's so hard to work in the auto industry?

Anyone else noticed the flange to sausage ratio at Bursons?
