And how did it get there? The index case is always from overseas.

The real failure is not forcing everyone in contact with people from overseas to be vaccinated, and rolling out elsewhere only once that job was done.

Yep here's an idea. Instead of staying put like we're supposed to lets jump onto Bookface/Twatter/whatever and organise a mass protest

I think that was in Season 1 last year set in Ecuador, but it didn't rate very highly because viewers didn't think it was realistic enough.
There was also a throwback to that saga at the start of the year set in California where field hospitals were erected in parks because hospitals were at capacity.

Possibly because this is the most technologically connected point of time in human history. There wasn't much coverage of the 1920 pandemic, unfortunately.

I agree, I prefer my slow and foreseeable global emergencies to be surprises that I wake up to on my way to work on a Tuesday morning. It's like my great grandfather said right before he died, "Welp, too late to do anything about that now".

Mind you, full credit to those pulling off this scam. They've managed to get countries that can't stand each other to all report consistently on this virus. That's an incredible effort for a 'scam'.

If an over the counter product was effective, why would countries all around the world ignore it? Again, full kudos to the people behind the 'scam' for getting everyone to go along with it. Really top effort.

This intelligent thought you had. Where is it?

The uk is in shambles after opening up. Soaring cases, and so many people have been forced to isolate due to being close contacts that food production has dropped right off, they don’t have enough truck drivers to deliver the food they have, nor do they have enough supermarket workers to stack the shelfs. So a lot of them have bare shelves on many items.

Freedom day lol. It’s going great.

Police are going to try and track down every person that attended any if these protests from today.

Task force set up apparently.

See what happens... would be thousands of hours of video to scour...

He did that till he got worse and called an ambulance to be taken to Liverpool hospital for treatment.

GF tests positive, mum tests negative.

10pm news last night - 2 nurses test positive at Bankstown Hospital.

Huge protest planned for the Sydney CBD today at noon. Interesting to see what happens.
I find it interesting that he presented to Bankstown Hospital and had an immediate positive or negative test whilst waiting, then turned away, was he turned away because the already had 2 positive nurses already?

If he was really sick why send him home?..to recover, why not admit him?

The fact he was taken to Liverpool Hospital is odd, I know that you can't choose which hospital to go to, the system does that, I know I tried once.
So did Bankstown have an issue beforehand and covered it up for I suppose political reasons, am just trying to reason in my head the logic of doing what they did!
Very strange eh.....this is not a criticism of your post but me looking at why it happened that way!

Cheers Billy.

Either way I do agree its a bit rich for NSW to demand other states sacrifice some of their Pfizer supplies, given every state is supply limited already and have just as much need to vaccinate their populations regardless of the number of cases.
Ya got to read each of the individual state and territories number plates, its quite obvious then!

As for how the virus outbreaks originate, I'm not sure that's entirely correct. Did the 81 yr old who started the outbreak in SA really bring the virus with him from Argentina? I'm not sure but I believe there is a good chance he actually caught it in a NSW hospital.
He might of travelled in the wheel well?...

Trolley bay at an Aldi I frequent. There are no QR code sheets anywhere near the trolleys, you have to either enter the vestibule or stand immediately at the sliding doors - making it impossible to maintain the recommendation of 1,5m spacing from others.

I raised this with the staff - total lack of interest. Notwithstanding the fact that this entire store has already been shut down and deep cleaned three weeks ago when a staff member worked two full shifts while infectious. Irrespective of my own views on the situation I intend to keep following the spirit of the rules and it’s a bit grating when you’re effectively forced into a compromise.

Seeking opinions.

I went to my local gym out of hours - using a after hour tag to get in.

In Newcastle not in lockdown but masks mandatory shopping/gyms.

I go in and are 2 guys - obviously mates, one wearing mask the other not.

I am wearing a mask and thankfully the back workout equipment was on other side from the deadlift stuff he was using.

Girl arrives-mask. Then another guy- mask.

I am working out and stare at the guy with no mask but he just ignores me.

I was very tempted to go over and have a “chat” but have had a lesson come my way of in the form of karma that will be very costly and now am rethinking about being confrontational.

Was I correct to not confront him or was it a civic duty to remind public of the law and not be selfish? New times these....

What are people thought on how Sydney is tracking with their measures and when they will get out? I’m thinking that unless things change it will be November … or maybe never.

No looking positive. Hope they find a circuit breaker. And I hope for the rest of Australia they don’t give up.

I think the NSW Government will revise their goals radically and stare down the other states. It will be mid to later September. Either that or there is an increasing double standard of exemptions to the rules, for this that and the other.

Look at the simple example I just posted, where even if you’re “doing the right thing” risk of transmission is elevated. Also the sheer number of buildings with common areas that are impractical (by cost and size) to keep to the nominated standards.

I believe the main thing people are doing that’s unhelpful is convenience shopping. If that is to be tackled it will raise a lot of ire. Food and drink outlets would be delivery only, supermarket hours and days heavily tweaked. Service stations would be back to petrol (and the odd bottle of oil or coolant) only.

The Government is perilously close (IMO) to slipping into a mindset of blaming people for catching coronavirus.

i understand that the germ can live on a surface for many hours,
and that surface transmission is no.2 on the transmission list. how is it that govco are only banging on about face masks but not surface transmission. in CB,s previous audi shops picture, there are lots of trolleys, how do you know if a trolley that you pick , is safe.
i just think this side of personal transmission isn,t covered at all , and that an effort should be made to tell people.
