Interesting graph showing the rate of at least one dose across regional areas of 5 states.

https://twitter.com/behrooz_hm/statu...492227/photo/1

You can see why some regions and states are still a little hesitant in opening up, both to their metro counterparts and to other states alike.

The difference, as far as what has been made publicly available so far, is that there will be more scrutiny on gov's decisions with this bill. Whilst the independent body can't veto any decisions, the reasons behind the decisions will at least be made public. And if those reasons are "unacceptable" there will be 6m Victorians marching and protesting, not 2000.
from what I understand there is some part of this that protects the CHO from any potential litigation from the decisions - is that your understanding?

All governments state/feds..
not just him; remember the "Australia card" referendum or election..

now your medicare card, tax, centrelink and drivers licence are linked now as in one app when you want to eat out and have a beer.. covid passport.

The only exemption you would get is from your doctor. And AFAIK if there is a real reason for it, then you also get a medicare cert and can work/shop.

That's what I said?
But somewhere in the Ethernet a bunch of idiots are trying to sell it as fact I suppose, why don't they just get vaccinated and be done with it.

NSW/VIC

NSW records 304 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate increases to 1.0124 (from 0.9992) while the actual line remains above the predictive trend line which is changed to a 4th order polynomial again.

VIC records 1,534 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate increases to 0.9910 (from 0.9819) while the actual line remains behind the predictive trend which has been changed to a 4th order polynomial.

I see Coles and Woolworths have announced that they are intending to stock Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) kits from early November. Expected costs are between $10 and $15.

Data valid as at 00:00 GMT October 26th 2021.

Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting.

1,724 new cases for Australia and 5 deaths so the CMR is 1.020%.

73 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 0.481%.

The UK had 43,453 cases yesterday and 263 deaths for a CMR of 1.579%.

78,508 new cases in the USA yesterday and 1,549 deaths sees CMR at 1.634%.

Other notable points:
Global cases pass 245M, the last 1M in 3 days;

Barbados (445); and
Bulgaria (6,816)

... recorded new highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

Germany and Luxembourg move above the 90th percentile for the 10 day period while no countries drop below.

People are funny. I would think "free test!"

If I was negative, I would be happy and stay and party.

If I was positive, I would be thankful and go home and isolate.

The only people who would take issue with being asked to verify if they're contagious or not... are those who are unwilling to exchange a small portion of their convenience for someone else's life.

But honestly it sounds like a great vetting strategy.

A few variables to consider. Is the said someone vulnerable? Or do they live with someone who is vulnerable? And this might sound harsh....but is the said someone worth the hassle....acquitance vs good mate?

From the vids I've seen, the rapid tests take a good 30-45 mins, and requires you to follow strict protocols. Results can also come back inconclusive. Also interested to know how they are going to verify your results? Are they going to look at the "stick"? Whats to stop me reusing the same "stick" over and over again.

Now, if someone can come up with a rapid std test prior to entry into parties, clubs and bars....I'd be all for it.

If a visitor isn't willing to take a covid test to ensure everyone's safety... and feels that the best option is to politely decline and hightail it... then it's a win for both parties.

- Visitor doesn't want to have to prove they're not carrying a contagious and potentially lethal virus... and doesn't have to. They win because they don't get forced to do something they don't want to do.
- Person who is being visited doesn't end up risking the safety of their family and doesn't have to tell visitor that they're not welcome, also a win. They may or may not also re-evaluate the viability of the friendship with someone who has no concern for other people and won't increase other peoples' chances of not getting sick by way of taking a quick non-invasive test, but that'll probably vary.

What would be the issue with anyone taking a test though? Where is the harm? Why decline and leave?

Perhaps the other way of looking at the question of usage of the RAT for home entry use is, will you be asking your visitors to undertake the test before allowing them to enter?

The situation is a two way street: for people to take the test, they first have to be asked to take the test.

The original scenario was a social visit to a friend but yeah mass-testing upon entry to every shop is probably never going to happen.

Whatever happened to those sniffer dogs who were being trained to smell the virus? I wonder how they got on with that.

Nice deflection Cavinator... but what about the Fed Libs p!ss poor response to the climate conference in Glasgow? Being on topic there is a direct correlation between the lack of climate concern and the current pandemic.

Covid-19 paused climate emissions – but they're rising again

The world's sudden launch into lockdown a year ago had an interesting effect on carbon emissions – now they're returning back to normal far quicker than society is.

Let’s have covid night. At 7pm on the 1/12 every person takes the test. Waits for the result and isolate if needed. Repeat in a month. We will then know the real amount with it
