When I was 16 I had a 1972 GA Galant race car - Which I still have
When I was 18 I bought a 1988 EA Falcon 5 Speed. I also still have the Falcon and it is now my current race car.

My first car was a '72 XA Falcon sedan, 302, t-bar auto, in a lovely shade of Pottery Beige. : It had factory air & you could see the fuel guage going down when it was on.

I got my licence in '85.

My first car was a 1983 KB Laser S. 3door, Twin Carb, Charcoal colour, and had a Sunroof back in 1999 brought it for $1,100.

I put on it Tinted windows, a kill switch, new door rubbers, 2inch sports exhurst, SAAS sports steering wheel. Dad and I rebuilt the motor and put a carby kit in both carbies for a cost of $400. replaced 4 the pistons after it blew the pistons to pieces back in 2001...

I had to trade it in, for my 1997 KJ Laser Liata 5door. I got $2,750 for the KB with 5days rego left on it, they sold it with 6 months rego on it for $2,900. The day before i went in to buy it back, it was driven away. It was the day before my 19th Birthday... it wasn't a happy birthday for me.

Gunmetal Grey

Purchased it at 40,00kms and sold it 2 years later with 195,000kms. : I drive that thing everyday! Was a cool car, not sure why I didn't want a manual back then. Guess when you're getting it as a present you'll take anything you can. :

I still see it around, it's 1 hour from me. A farmer or farmers son owns it and he always has dogs it it lol.
Looks like a real heap now. Must have about 400K on the clock!!

1972 ( I think) TC Cortina 2L 4 speed, British racing green. Was lowered a little and went like the clappers. Handled like a dream; I remember 4 wheel drifting it around a blind curve at 90mph and holding my own lane with ease. My mate was so scared he left permenent indentations in the dash pad from his fingers from where he was holding on so tight but give him his due, he never said a word. I burned out the plug leads one day after I wound it off the clock, I loved that car. That was 1980 and I'd gotten my licence 10 days before P plates became law in SA. As I remember I think I lasted 3 months before I ran out of demerit points that first time...ahh the memories.

First car was a 1995 EF Fairmont. I spent pay cheque after pay cheque on it. Done a head gasket, bottom end, air con blew etc. I still have it 3.5 years on. Bought my BA to replace it. The EF will be a keeper i love it to bits!

First car was the XE S-pac family hand me down. Old man bought it in mint condition about 5 years before I got hold of it, through him, my brothers and sister going through it over the years she started to look abit average. I knick named it the blue whale, obviously it was blue in colour. Mechanically it was great, 250 Xflow on gas (LPG cost $13 a tank back then), 4 speed manual with LSD. Had some high kays but them donks last a while. No creature comforts but who gives a toss when you first get your licence. Ended up getting a 2 1/2 inch from manifold back which made it sound like a wounded mammoth but it always turned the school mates heads. Funniest part of it all was how it beat all my school mates Commodores, at the time the VB-VK were the popular ones. They all had 202 manuals and would compare each others cars, then this big blue thing come out and take them all on. I think it converted a few one eyed bogans when the Ford ended up matching the "hot" Holden of the group, a VH 202 with holley, extractors, zorst, cam manual etc etc. The guys formed this attatchment to this Ford when I used to think what a POS I drive lol I miss them times :

1989 Hyuundai Excel 5 Speed :

I got it dirt cheap, and more importantly, it was a manual, bought it 3 months before my 18th birthday, 6 months later I got my act together and bought my AUII Futura
