Default Focus powered Clubman

Folks, FYI i'm building a duratec powered clubman. See pictures here. http://autos.ph.groups.yahoo.com/gro...browse/a00c?c=

Sept 2005 with 4,085km on the clock and it drives - well it did until stripped it.

Dave

Pics link not working but I'm LOVING the sound of it! Keep us informed!

Regarding a Turbo, nothing really off the shelf that I know of yet, at least no in Oz, however there should be a number of htings available in the UK/Europe where the engine originates from. Out of interest, they are achieving upward of 220HP (That's over 160kw) out of N/A 2.0 Duratecs in the UK currently, it seems to be a very breathable, good engine for modding. Worth looking into since a clubman would probably benefit more from mid-range/top end rather than bulk Torque, something which may end up simply spinning the wheels if you're too light. What gearbox and suspension you using?

Probably not telling you guys anything new but it’s the same motor as the Mazda 3. Having been pulling the Duratec apart I know it well and I compared it against the Mazda at lunch time. The only real difference I could see was my inlet butterfly is 100% electronic, Mazda is pull cable. What about Mazda 3 turbos? Can you get them?

Try hitting the link a few times.

http://autos.ph.groups.yahoo.com/gr.../browse/a00c?c=

I’m using the supra gearbox and a Commodore diff (got to get this bit yet but want LSD). Commodore hubs on the front Cortina stub axles, escort steering rack and the Focus steering column. Suspension not yet sourced.

Dave, if you haven't discovered it already, take a look at
www.focussport.com

I think they have a Duratec turbo about to be released.

Also check out

www.seanhylandmotorsport.com
www.fordracingparts.com
www.focaljet.com

They may not have exactly what you're after, but may provide some useful links and thoughts

I have a modified car magazine from mexico (used to live there, brother still does, he visited and brought it to me)
It has a new focus in it, same 2 litre motor, Twin turbocharged ! the thing puts out some stupid power figure, it looks the business too.
Ill find the magazine and scan the pages. ill upload em onto ff.com.au to show you guys !

I am also building a clubbie, there is an rotrex supercharger fitted to dura motors by chateram and aries in the uk. You can get a kit from rotrex. As many peaple just think turbo not other options.
