Lightbulb FORD Colours To be Australian ??

Would Ford having the colours in Aussie appeal to Aussies????
eg Alice Springs Red, Rain Forest Green, Kalgoorlie Gold, Kambalda Silver, Barrier Reef Blue. XXXX Brown, etc ??? anyone else got a colour of Australia?

Interesting concept, but personally I wouldn't be buying a brand/model because of the name of a colour.....the colour itself certainly matters but not so much the name.

Murray river mud....
Seriously though, good concept but it might look a bit try hard on fords behalf. The bogans buying commodores might see it as a desperate bid to associate ford with
Aussies. Of course if Holden did it, it'd be front page news, patriotic and all that.

Waste of time.

What they need to do is get some bright colour back in to the XR / FPV range... the current colour range is a joke!! 2003 - 2004 was where they need to be, Blood orange, Citric Acid, Blueprint etc...

I would prefer to see the car colour matched to one of our nasties ie ;
- Funnelweb black
- Tigersnake bronze
- Crocodile brown
- White pointer grey (can also be a two tone grey/white)
- Termite white
Just a few I could think of.

+1.
Forget the names, just get a decent pallette to choose from.

Could always put the money, time and effort into building quality cars that people want instead.

If I remember correctly, British Leyland tried something similar with the P76 colour scheme, giving them weird names will do absolutely nothing to improve sales.

I want to see a brighter than bright green, brighter than toxic even, a deep rich red that has depth and definition, an orange similar in colour to a ripe peach right before it goes red but still has green on it, a yellow that's similar to a banana but thick and pastel like, not too bright and fake... A gold that's a bit stronger than acid rush, with more metal in it..

Yeah having colours that would make the 200k+ bracket jealous is a wonderful idea, but as Henry himself said, "You can have any colour as long as it's black."

These people need to get off the gear..This is the ultimate example of of the Emperors new clothes..the naming of style over substance.

The excitement over tiger Mica finished a decade ago..

I think back to basics red, white, black, light blue, dark green etc.

It's way more important that its a good shade of blue than what it's called. eg calling sensation blue "sensation" did not make it sensational. It was still a white roof away from being a Skilled fleet car.

Funny thing is, a crap colour and a great colour basically cost the same.

The plots over there .....

Need to pick up a brochure before you'll ever know what goofy names Ford chose as colours, so it's pointless. The actual colours need to appeal.

Blood Orange was my favourite and was the colour of my BA XR8. If they brought out that colour again, I'd take it. The oranges since look bland, IMO.

Having better range of colours that are at least brighter and not grey/dark tones would be nice.

The B series certainly had a good range of interesting colours to choose from over the series' run. Some only lasted a small amount of time and others ran for years. Shame they don't reintroduce colours from older models into the current line up.

It would be great if you could order a car with your own colour preference, but that only seems reserved for the expensive makes like Ferrari etc. I'd love to be able to order a new Ford in Shockwave. But then again. It's my favourite colour.

apparently it's easier to sell a white or blue car than a bright colour like Orange or Green. (of course, i prefer bright colours that stimulate the brain).

In the '70's I had a P76 V8 Super. It was bright yellow and the colour name was 'Bold as Brass'. Some of the other names were 'Oh Fudge' (brown), 'NV Green' and I think 'Purr Pull'.

Some of the colour names for the initial release of the Territory hinted at the colour; mine was 'Mandarin' (orange), but some of the others were 'Envi' (green again) and so on.

I have never been a fan of the monochrome silver, white and black stuff, but the name of current G6 (Sensation) just does not hint at it being blue.
