Angry someone put a chainsaw into the front my immaculate77 p6 ltd today.wtf.

three stooges cutting down trees for the neighbours chainsawed the front end of my ltd p6.i now know that the front nose section is fibreglass something i did not know before and something that i still wish that i did not know.i came home to find trees and branches just about lying on my car and went to inspect that it had not been scratched.wen i got to the front of the car i noticed an obvious chainsaw cut to the front of my p6 and fronted them.they all denied it it and tried to make out it must of happened some other way.after pionting out the obvious cut by a chainsaw in my car and seeing the strands of fibreglass(minute)that would have blown away in any wind.then he wanted to raise his voice and deny it to the point i fired up.he then offered to get his mate to quote on it and said he would pay.he still denied doing it. he later came over and gave me his card and number.oh well shi* happens and unfortunately i coped some today.hope he pays up.

Need a witness to make it stick, they will all say yeah they will pay when it happens but when it comes to handing the cash over for the damages they will turn around and say they didnt do it.

If you aint got winesses take photo's, lots of them, pics of the trees they were cutting down, pics of how close the trees where to you car.

The more photos the better........ better to be safe than sorry

Damaging a P6 should be a corporal offence.

Bugger about the damage. Who the hell chainsaws a P6 on purpose or by accident?

do it officially, get a proper quote, send it with a letter of demand.
give him 7 days to respond.
if he doesn't go to your local court & have them raise a
"statement of claim"
this is sent to them by the court & gives 28 days to respond.
after that you go back to the court & they will enter a judgement against him.
ring your local court that has a small claims section & they will advise you on the process, will cost less tha $200 & you will get that back in the judgement.

good luck,

steevo

How close was the tree?!

Unless you parked right up against it, how on earth did they do it accidentally?!

In this situation can you just go through your car insurance and get them to do all the work chasing money?

I feel for you, and hope it gets back to looking as good as it was before, very soon!

wow ... thats just plain crazzzy.

who would cut down trees that close to someone elses car anyway. and to use a chain saw so close that you can hit the car ??????

'' dodgey brothers and co - tree and car cutting service.''

i would be calling you own insurance company if its insured and they should sort the idiots out.

WTF how the hell does somebody "accidentally" put a chainsaw through somebodys car
while cutting a tree.

you mean to say your neighbour cut down a tree with your car sitting benneath it?

my neighbour cut into his concrete driveway the other day and splattered wet cement all
over my car!

now that ive read this a couple of times, and calmed down a bit (yep, i'm effing wild, but i'll bet that's be nothing compared to yourself), my advice:

i'm assuming you're comp. insured with shannons or the like, considering it's a very nice piece of old-school class, so i'd be straight onto them and get them to sort it all out. after all, that's one reason we have comp insur., so they can battle for you when it's not your fault. that way, you get your car fixed properly, and the insurance company will rip him apart if he doesnt pay them back.
also, NEVER EVER EVER go to a 'mate' of those responsible, simply because they will cut every corner (sorry mate, no pun intended) to do it cheaply because his 'mate' will look after him first. it's YOUR car, so YOU choose who touches it. i've been on the receiving end of one like that. my car was damaged, his mate 'fixed' it, and 6 months later the body filler started to lift. i didnt get anywhere with it because it was 'fixed' before, so it must have been my fault this time...

hope this helps, good luck with it all, and keep us posted.

+1 (assuming its comp insured)

We pay heaps for insurance, nows the time to use it. Also, (especially if your not insured) call the police ASAP, it sounds like the definition of malicious damage. They'll take a statement and that will help you out if the chainsaw guys deny it later.

He must of had a bet with his mate as to the material in the front ends. Obviously the felt the need to 'open it up'. Completet f$ck*ng tools.

Sorry to hear that this has happened. I also see that your car has the original protection pack as well. Nice.

Turn up on his doorstep with a hockey mask and a chainsaw when you demand payment for repairs. He should be alot more co-operative then.

WTF. I can just imagine some moron running up and down the drive swinging a chainsaw in the air. How else do you miss a stationary tree and hit a stationary car.

With my insurance (and most others i think), if your involved in a 'not at fault' accident, wether its with another car or not, the guilty party has to cough up the money including the excess. Only time that wouldn't be the case is if you couldn't provide the police with the bad guys details, then you'd have to pay the excess.
You've got the guys card, and the 'sh t happens' he gave you is a pretty clear admition (spelling) of guilt, to me anyway.
Take it to the police and get it down on paper. I'm sure your upset about your car, i would be p'd off too, but if you go through the right channels you've got a much better chance of getting it fixed right and making the chainsaw pricks pay for it.

As said- go straight to the police and ring Shannons. Did you take pictures yet? Ask neighbours if they saw anything too. Any security cameras locally?
Dont mess about- use the full extent of the law and they are more likely to cough up quicker.

Good luck- that is one of the most stupid things I have read in ages.....

Looks a lot like a chainsaw cut to me. I'd suspect they were walking about with the saw running and either with the throttle open or it idling to high (mine does this sometimes .. nasty). Don't know how they managed to get it at that angle though?? Good luck with it all ...

That is so bizarre it has to be true.

Funny he denied then ended up admiting fault...if he didn't do it then why did he cave? If you hadn't done it then you would deny deny deny no matter how much you were questioned wouldn't you?......effing tool

I agree 1 million percent with the advice of going through insurance.

I had a Great Dane run into the side of my car (yes the dog t-boned me) and did $1,200 damage. New passenger door skin, repair rear door skin, paint and blend doors and the sill. I confronted the owner of the dog and she accepted the liability - dog was off the lead.

I gave all her details to my insurance company and they fixed it with no excess payable. The dog owner ended up coughing up the money to my insurance company but it took months aparently and a mention of going to court to get a payment plan worked out. I didn't care, my car was fixed and that was why I went insurance straight away, that what I paid extra for, for it to be their problem not mine.

I consulted the cops when it happened and they said because she admitted liability and said she would pay that she had entered into a civil agreement and that failure to forfill that civil agreement would actually incur legal ramifications...not sure what the ramifications were because I didn't need it.

The dog lived by the way but had a fractured eye socket, bruising and a really bad headache.

Go hard, and be prepared to invest time into geting this fixed. Your going to have to drive the process initially. Be prepared to have to explain this 10 times over to various people, write down everything that was said including a statement from the neighbours who employed 'Dumb and Dumber' tree lopping service and take photo's of the area, where you car was parked etc etc. Who knows what BS they may come out with in 2 weeks time....perhaps even a statement along the lines of "There wasn't a car paked there when we did the job"?

Keep us updated ...and may the force be with you.
