It was an interesting read, what I read of it (not quite half), man it just keeps going on and on.

A Snell sticker was easiest to determine at point of sale, where as a customer I needed the info. Its good they are trying to improve the standard for real world situations and for the industry its essential such issues are discussed. I agree with the issue of the inner being more important than the shell and impact absorption is key. For the buyer, you just need to know which std you want as a minimum feature on the gear. I always bought Snell approved as the ASA merely had to satisfy conditions determined by the local speed limit. Lets face it, come off at 160, hit your head on a pole at anywhere close to that, you arent walking away.

The helmet is merely a bucket rescue crew use to carry your head back to your body.

Yes, I once was a temporary Australian as my old man would say.
