Bit of a vague question.
Do you want to stop rubbing of the hoses, perishing or to make them look good ?

If you're referring to keeping them looking black, any protectant-style product that can be used on rubber will do the job...durability will differ between products and it also has to do with other factors such as under-bonnet temperature...which will also differ between vehicles.

Ummm yeah it was sorta vague wasn't it?
OK the hoses are in good condition but look dull. The rest of the plastic bits are fine and treated with Armour All on a fairly regular basis. I have not used it on the radiator hoses , heater hoses etc as I was told they would not last as long and it is better to leave them looking dull if I want them to stay serviceable for as long as possible. Not really big on detailing as you can probably tell and I am doing this more for reliability than anything else. Thanks for the posts so far. Peter. |

I use TYRE SHINE spray........spray some on a rag and then wipe on hoses......gives all the rubber hoses a nice deep glossy look.........works for me.

I use the CRC stuff - it lasts longer / much more durable then the cheaper stuff so you don't have to use it as often
