Anyone going into Supercheap etc might be puzzled by the array of oils. There's even an oil now which is labelled 'for Ford Mondeo'.
So what's the story? Some may have noticed that some oils are 'suitable for DPFs' but the ones approved by Ford carry no such statement. This is odd on the face of it. Oils approved by Ford (ie A5/B5 are 'fuel efficient oils' according to ACEA. See http://www.oilspecifications.org/acea.php I'd say use oil meeting Ford specifications. Simple. I still don't get though. |

My guess is Ford did not want to have different oils for the petrol and diesel engines.
I use Total Quartz Ineo ECS, which is the oil specified by Citreon and Peugeot for the same engine in their cars. Remember that if the engine isn't using oil, it probably doesn't matter whether or not it's a low SAPS oil for DPF. Sent from my SM-G9208 using Tapatalk

PS It's ACEA C2 & A5/B5.
I should also note that there was a slight but definite improvement in fuel consumption after changing to the Total oil from a Valvoline SynPower oil that the Ford dealer used for the last in warranty service.
