Default What about that Lemon Ute @ Bathurst?

Whats the go with this guy, sticks a blue BA ute out the front of the General Admission gates of Mt. Panorama.

On this ute was a big banner and magnets plus a rear window sticker saying things like "Lemon by Ford". His reasoning, it needed the attention of Ford Service a shed load of times. No other reason.

Spoke to Mr. Dissallusioned Ford dude and he told us the motor and tranny were fine and nothing else.

Needless to say on Sunday afternoon, the magnets and banner were stripped off with the words richard cranium written on the rear panel with permanent marker.

Have you ever owned a B series car and dealt with ford services recently. That might help explain his actions...

LOL...what would you expect to happen when your at a place full of Ford Vs Holden.
he's lucky the car didnt get more damaged than it did (not saying it deserved it or should have been) but seriously what did he expect to achieve by it?
did he think some high ranking Ford manager would see it and give him a new car?

come on...theres proper channels to sort this stuff out.

Just got back from Bathurst. I saw this car and was told that the owner is a Holden stooge. Anybody willing to sponsor me next year so that I can put a VE Commodore in the same place with lemon stickers all over it?

From my own and my parents experience we havn't had one problem that hasn't been fixed the 1st time, and there havn't een many problems.

Bit of an idiot to take it to a place like bathurst with anti-anything Ford or holden on it!!

I have dealt with my local dealer on a few warranty issues now, and they are excellent. Tell them the problem and they do their very best to rectify it first time.

Absolutely no stuffing me about like I have had previously with other brands.

I can actually talk to them about various issues, and they are very knowledgeable.

Yes l have and got just as far with there "customer service" center as the dealers hence the move back to an au. Poor place to do it when there are so many ford fanatics though but like me fords crap treatment leaves little option apart from to never buy a new ford again.

That'd be this 1. I saw it there and was talking to a guy who is in marketing at Ford who organised the drivers parade lap we did at bathurst and we both agreed, for what it was worth, they would have been better off taking the guys car back and replacing it than having that kind of publicity at the main public gate at bathurst!

My ute has been back in almost as many times and had almost as much stuff replaced, but its all been done, and relatively pain free. Such is life, i dealt with it, i didnt cry about it.

By the end of the race on sunday people had written all over it in the dust saying how stupid he was and someone wrote ****er with black texta on the rear quarter!!

There are a few bad BA's out there. You'd get sick of having to take it back to Ford ever month. There is a guy in my area with a silver Merc with Lemons on it with stickers saying "this car is a lemon."

I'm pretty sure that was just a reflection from the sun, but there was a black xr in the car park with candy apple red skirts and the sides of the spoiler where it slopes down, and i think highlights in the front bar.

Each to their own, but not for me.

Personally I can identify with it.

Having had a BA that was a lemon, with attending multiple service centers that refused to fix the issues (long story - car was eventually sold leaving me massively out of pocket). About the only thing that wasn't a problem was the engine. Everything else though had leaks, bumps, shunts, creaks, scratches after service visits, marks.

Hardly what you'd expect for a brand new $40,000 car.

I can identify completely.

Regular channels did bugger all to 'help me'. Told me that they wouldn't fix it. Then when I asked for it to be replaced they said they couldn't do that. I was lied to by service centers saying that they had lodged all my service requests with CRC for tracking - however when I called CRC nothing was against my name, rego plate or VIN.

As I said, I had to sell the car and take for well below market rate. Why? The Used Car Ford shops wouldn't touch the car they new the problems. Had 4 people test drive it, and 3 didn't want it after test driving (despite being sub market value) and 1 did and I had to negotiate on price despite being 10% below market rate because the car was that useless.

*shrugs* Some people get lucky with the dealerships/service and manufacturing. I got a crap car and was not supported by anyone - just as I suspect this guy has experienced.

This guy is stupif... When we went down the bottom on Sunday morning it had some stuff written on it in black texta. If he hired it would he have to pay?

I can relate to that because on the way to Bathurst on Friday Dad's diff started stuffing up so it has to go back AGAIN today!

Wouldn't you just try and sell it if you were unhappy, rather than carry on like a baby?

my mate just sold his XR6 back to Tarrants Ford Hervey Bay for a big loss and only 7 months old after having 6 new Fords over 18 years he told me he is never buying another new ford because of his treatment at Tarrants.3 trips to Brisbane = two new cruise controls and about 15 new fuses, and thats just the problems with the cruise control.
