Warranty service: Ford dealer or 3rd pty?

I know ford dealers would be the most common place for warranty services, but some other service centres are providing the service as well. Have any one try one of those?

I saw Repco and Ultratune's website for the warranty service and just wondering if that would be a better deal, anyone had compare their quality and price with ford dealers?

For regular "logbook" servicing you'll get a much better deal outside Ford.
However, if you need something fixed "under" Ford factory warranty...you'll need to take it to a dealer.
The warranty that Repco refer to is just on the stuff that they fit...they can't warrant Ford factory parts.

I've never had a service done at the local Ford dealer except the 'peace of mind' one at 3000k.
The logbook servicings have always been done at local mechanic who in my opinion does a far greater job than any dealer could and cheaper.
I've never had a problem with Ford covering warranty issues.
I do realise there are some good dealers out there so I don't wish to tarnish all dealers with a generalisation.
I personally believe that if you could find a good local mechanic that he relies on good work to get customer return, you will generally be better off than a lot of dealers or larger franchise businesses. My opinion though.

As long as the service book gets filled out by an accredited mechanic, there shouldn't be any worries about taking you car for servicing elsewhere.

its very true for the most part that going to your local mechanic will be cheaper and to most people do a better job. just think about it though most dealers have 50 cars a week to service and they can miss things on the car as anyone in a job that entails a lot of detail.

so long as you dont expect too much outta them they are pretty good.

As long as you get it serviced within the 1 year/15,000K period (or whatever is is) by a licensed mechanic and have some kind of record (invoice or log book stamp etc..) then the warranty should be fine.
I won't be going back to ford unless i have to, but one of my mates was happy with the service at his local dealer, so i guess it depends on your individual experiences with them.

sister works at our local toyota dealer, so i know they are servicing what they say they are and usually a lot cheaper
