Default AU Shaker kits from IPV.

Just going through a few old Ford Mags of mine and found a website that sells Shaker kits for AU S2 and S3's. They're from a company called IPV; I'm curious as to whether or not someone has one of these installed on their AU at the moment and would be willing to share pictures.

I've found one put on to a newer model Ford, but not an AU.

I might have to buy one down the track. They say they don't fit the S1 models, that would most likely be due to the bonnet, would it not?

Cheers mate. I'm of mixed opinions; I like it, but at the same time, it kind of makes the car look a little busy.

There are a couple around. Zhodak and I fitted one to his AU Fairmont. None of this pipe into an airbox though - straight into the TB running the standard 9" round filter under the shaker.

Shaker on my XR8 is on the cards at some stage - just got to find one at a good price (<$300). But it will plumb into the GD air box. I had one on the NL 'lane too - easy enough to do.

Yep - still see that one around too. The hardest part of fitting the shaker, is having the guts to jigsaw the bonnet!

You bet it had a great induction noise. I could hear it about 30 mtres away, in a shop on a busy road. And the best part as JC would agree is that the intake manifold was ice cold on a hot day after a decent run. You could easily place your hand on the intake.

Here's another pic of the old girl

any difference , between the shaker and normal cai mods. being directly into the throttle body less distance , colder air charge , etc etc.

The benefits would deffinately been seen at the drags. As you gain speed, it starts ramming air into the throttlebody, kind of like a pound or two of boost as you get into the deep end. The only negative thing is that it is hard to tune, as you cant replicate the ram air on a dyno to the same extent, and variables like wind direction and everything will make a difference. Worst case scenario is that it could lean out a bit and ping at WOT over 140, but I dont see it becoming to much of a problem.
Find a price, I might be keen on one of these as well
