Default Urgent Sunroof repairer needed

My brother had a S2 AUXR6 with the factory sunroof that needs repairing or replacing sooner rather than later...he tells me it's going to get rainy there soon

Being in Maryborough (QLD) limits his chances a bit though.

Any ideas people ?

Try some gaffer or duct tape and thick black/clear plastic as a temp solution.

Otherwise, try this mob:

Like me he's well over.
Just got a message back from him and he thinks it will be a complete replace job as it looks like the whole structure has gone, and looks like it's rusted out in places.

Rog, is it just leaking or not working? If it is leaking, there is drain holes in each front corner that tend to block up. My LTD has done this and was fixed by blowing some air down the drain tubes.

The sunroof glass itself does not actually seal. It relies on the drain tubes.

Cheers
Stu

I have heard of this. Someone recently had this happen and contacted Hollandia - I believe they corrected this for free because it was a recall back in the day. I am sure they have changed their name now, but should not take much to work out how to contact them.

Cheers

Correct!
There was a recall on the Hollandia sunroofs where they were replacing the glass.
If the defect was the cause of the rusting frame I would be pushing for a replacement as well.
Our sunroof in the XR8 we had at the time let go during a pass a Heathcote with my wife driving.

I'll pass the recall on to my brother, but I don't how he'll get on after this length of time.

I have been told to maintain the roof yearly with a full service

I know of several au owners who have had their sunroof repaired or replaced in the last 18 months or so. Times doesn't seem to be an issue.

Hi. Changing the BCM shouldnt stop the sunroof from working but if the battery is disconnected the memory buttons wont work untill the controller for the sunroof is reset. Use the close button to tilt the roof up and let go of the button and then hold the close button for 5 seconds ( sunroof controller will beep ) and the memory buttons should then work. Cheers MD

Hi. Reading this post, I cant wonder at the amount of sunroofs out there that have missed the recall. Had one come into work the other day that hadnt been done. When I had mine everyone who walked past my car told me to get it done. Cheers MD
