Why is it that my neighbours start making outrageous levels of noise every time I need to record? Right now the guy on the right is using a wood chipper (or maybe a maxim gun) and the kid on the left is riding his dirt bike.
Are they secretly working against me? They were dead quiet until about three minutes after I finished setting up Fml. |

If the Flintstones animated series were set in the stone age, why is it they showed them celebrating Christmas? The stone age was before the birth of Christ - that is why it is referred to as BC. You cannot celebrate somebody's birthday before they are born......

The bloody photocopier will not allow you to print black and white documents when one of the colour cartridges are empty? If the print settings are set to black and white, it should not matter if any of the colour cartridges are empty.

For those who have done international travel.
The airports of the world have signs in the domestic language and English (if English is not the default language of that nation). English speaking countries have signs only in English. So why is it that the new T4 at Tullamarine Airport has signs in English and Chinese? Did I miss the change where Australia added a second official language to our nation? And if not, why only select Chinese? Does that not discriminate other non English speaking people outside of China?

Why is it when I go to a convenience store, place my items on the counter and say "just that please" or "just those please", the person behind the counter often asks "no petrol?" What part of what I said was not clear to them?

Why is it so that when I go to McDonalds and ask for 2 pieces of raisin toast, I am asked if I want them toasted! If I wanted bread I would ask for it.
Why am I asked if I want my food as a meal, if it's not a meal, what is it, why would I want to pay more for the same items?

In rugby, why is it when the following is achieved it is called a TRY? The player is no longer TRYing as they have already succeeded.

I believe when rugby began, no points were given for scoring the try itself, but only for the conversion (kick at goal). So one scored a 'try at goal', which became shortened to 'try'.

I saw this on two consecutive nights last week while driving home from work where it was well and truly dark. Why is it people can drive at night and NOT notice they have not turned on their lights (not even their park lights)? I don't see how this is possible. Even if one can see well enough, how can they NOT notice their instrument cluster and centre console are not lit up? How are they judging their speed? Even if I had tunnel vision it would be impossible not to notice that everything in front of you is dark.
People have told me in the past not to worry about it and let the police handle it. I disagree. Although the driver of the other car may be able to see where they are driving, it is the other motorists who CANNOT SEE THEM! What happens if you turn right across oncoming traffic at night and there is car coming in the opposite direction with no lights on? Or if you are trying to merge from a side street? Of the two instances I saw last week I managed to get one of them to turn on their lights (the other instance the person was driving in the opposite direction).

Why is it that whenever I just have to HAVE TO buy something and I get to the store, they are out of it. Not in stock or sold out and just not available for purchase so I end up having to drive to another store to get it. And then when I go back to the 1st store a week or so later and take a look there's heaps of it back on the shelf. So why not when I desperately needed it? *smh*

Why is it, that whenever I get my car fully detailed, it either rains or I get bird poop on my car?
Why? Do mega clean cars become magnets to birds? |

Why is it...
You start the day off happy, with a clear plan regarding "routine" vehicle maintenance, but you always find a problem that you really didn't care to find, & your heart sinks further the higher you realize the bill is going to be! The best advice a mechanic once gave me, "Weld the bonnet shut"!!! |

Spread it's wings......I sometimes get those dirty wispy marks on my rearview mirrors too! At first I wondered, "what the heck" then I realized they were feather wing marks! I totally get what you're saying! Stoopid birds.

Why is it that at 2am when you're ferrying the tired and emotional punters home in your taxi, the most troublesome, contrary, time wasting punters are always, ALWAYS the 20 something indigenous females that then turns into aggressive self righteous indignation when you don't give in to their antics or stop the meter while they waste time or try to get a discount on the fare........... As soon as you get in the car you're on the meter until you tell me the ride is over and you're getting out, THEN I'll stop the meter.

Hmm......why is it to tighten or close something we turn it clockwise to the right and to loosen or open it we turn it counter clockwise to the left? I mean, who decided that and why not the opposite? Why couldn't it be clockwise to open a water bottle and the opposite to tighten the cap? *as i open and close my water bottle*
Why is it "rightie tightie, leftie loosie?" I think i have too much time on my hands this afternoon. |

In my 3 minutes of google time I found out it is because most people are right handed and can put more force turning clockwise. Makes sense to me |

Why is it American's will not make any effort to learn the nuances of other English speaking nations? On this forum we speak Australian English.

Unfair. How many Australians convert to American spelling -Tyres Tires- and words like trunk and hood when talking on Seppo sites ?

Excuse me? I just re-read the site terms and conditions for this section and can't find where it states all users must only use Australian English. So if you're on an American forum you would use American English? Or would your answer be you wouldn't be on an American forum.

Why is it that problems are obvious and everyone raises them all the time but you still need to do a survey to point it out?
It's the same thing to me. Opposite of clockwise. |
