I've been looking for a good set of wheels for my XR6. I hate the standard alloys on the darker colour (velvet). So I've started looking at chrome alternatives and I've thought about doing the sacrificial.
I'm looking at getting a set of fairly rough typhoon wheels and getting them chrome plated  Is it possible to do this? The only reason I'm really looking at it is because I'm not sure on the costs to get a set re-machined/re-clearcoated, because I'm a tight-*** and can't afford $1,400 for a good set just yet.

You can, but in the end it would be cheaper just to get them painted in a chrome effects paint.

That's true, I have to agree with you there but a nice polished alloy can look quite good.

Ever thought of Jet Hot Ceramic coating.?
Ive had Motorcycle parts done in this,comes up a treet!!! One place in Castlemaine that does it. |
