Default The new ute! (pics inside)

Hey guys, as some of you know i just bought a series 1 V8 XLS Ute, just thought i'd post some pics of my new baby up for all to admire.
Shes got 3inch twin exhaust system, high flow cats, pacemaker headers and Tickford CAI with a K&N filter.

I've just swapped the XR8 wheels from my white AU (which is now For Sale)
Will be recieveing from White line Sway bars and castor/camber kits later this week and also King Springs Super Lows all round.
Just need to purchase some shocks, might have to do that another time.

Will hopefully have some photos of the lowering as it happens.

Cheers
Chad

Very nice mate. That twin system must sound awesome.

manual or auto?

and how low will those new springs make the ute? Sometimes I wouldnt mind being slightly lower for looks but kinda afraid of scraping.

It sounds AWESOME, imagine it with a lumpy cam ooer!! theres a bloke at work with a BA pursuit and i reakon mine sounds so much better.
I've worked out that the front will sit about 5mm under the wheel arch so it should sit nice! I'm a little concerned with scraping myself, but cant look back now as i've ordered everything, either way it will look HORN!!

PS. is manual ohh and has (according to the label) a high performance LSD :

Nice ute. With that setup, you've pretty much got an XR in Forte (XL) clothing!

Time for an avatar update!!!!

Just a couple more ideas for you to ponder (courtesy of awc - see http://www.awcinfo.com/secureshop/ca...php?cat_id=224 for more ideas):

1. T series front bar sans grille

2. T series front bar with grille and series 2 bonnet. Yum, Yum!!

Thats what I want to do! T3 front with persuit sides. not sure about rear bar though. I Think the standard one may look ok with a dumped exhaust so its just flat. No exhaust cut outs or anything.

Manual v8 with twin system.....would you just excuse me for a second?
That would sound sooo good.

Ive scraped once (outside of my property where ive scraped coming up the driveway. hooray for rutted gravel driveways) at the shops on a huge speed bump that is more like a 4wd obsticle. Bleedin huge thing. So a tad lower wouldnt hurt.

Nice ute ... OK .. I'll bite.
change the side indicators to clear ones ... and paint your mirror covers body colour
:hihi:

There ... I ad to say it.

But by the sounds of it ... you got a nice ute .. with full system already installed on it.
Which is a bonus.

I don't like the exhaust tips on it ... I think after lowering ... half hidden dump tips on either side would be mean.

Yeah too true mate. Too many pot holes, rough roads and corrogations. I think Ill just stick with standard height. Although I had the ute loaded up with gear to go to rotto and the lower height looked awesome...

Im starting to save to try and get tinting and exhaust done. Still need to get some quotes to see how much theyll be. And a service. Nearly 5000kms over the 50k service. Soon soon.

Named the ute yet?

Next Thursday i am getting new tyres and will get the castor camber kit installed and get everything checked and tightened.
heres a couple of pics:

More pics after next weekend after i give it a good clean.

Cheers

You call that a mess? pffft

You should have seen the mess we made when we chopped up the corrola...and the pulsar....and smashed prelude into bits. Ahhh bush bashers. Gotta love em.

If you decide to get rid of the rims let us know. Anyone want to buy some standard XLS/XR rims so I can buy those? haha

Don't bother getting them off Ebay, Ford sell them for cheap enough. I got mine for less than $40 the pair with globes, t'was the very first mod I did to my XR.

they're 30mm, can notice the difference too even though the alignment and castor/camber are shot at the momment, the wheels are sitting like a V8 supercars heh.

Just noticed new bar is hitting the steering arm pivot point at the wheel at full left lock, so it still needs a bit of fine tuning
