Default Newby with mk2 escort 1600

Hi all,
I have just come into possession of a 1600cc mk2 escort which I'm fixing up for my sister.
At this stage I have a few questions...

Is there any air filter kit available to replace the standard air filter cover as a) it doesn't create a complete seal around the carby throat and b) its damn ugly and gets in the way of everything when working on the engine.

also...

Has anybody converted the seats to something newer? I'm thinking about replacing the cracked vinyl seats with something common (ie cheap and available from u-pull lol) and still fairly comfortable. Its a two-door so I need to find seats that fold forwards.

Cheers
