Default XP & XM BONEYARD FOUND - Ohhh the humanity

Hard to believe, but today I have experienced something that I never imagined could still occur.

Somewhere in this great country of ours - No I am not a liberty to say where - A boneyard was found.
9 complete XM & XP Utes, Coupes, Sedans and Wagons not to mention the shed full of doors and gaurds, bonnets, boots, lights an amazing collection of parts for the early fords.

I will let the photo's do the talking

And then this was found..................

1972 XY Falcon 4x4 - note the plate in immaculate condition and apparently only about 400 were made

Oh my, how i hate to see those shapes with rust abundant! The XP has to be my favourite Falcon model and seeing them there in that condition is horrible. I hope they are some day restored to former glory

What is that massive diff from in the second photo?

Mate I did not have time to have a look at the diff - I was crying too hard to see let alone look at all the other stuff on that property.

I ended up coming away with 2 x 302 windsor blocks, C4 Auto, Couger performance heads and valves and am going again soon to get more things for my XP. Next time I'll have a good look and let u know.

Yep I agree but I would hate to think how much the XY is worth in that condition.

Actually one is for sale. I am just waiting for the guy to email what is with it. It is the one of the close up of the coupe. I know there is a Windsor 302 partially finished block, the original folding seats and that it is a 1966 model. If you are truly interested just PM me

Looks like a private collection to me
These places are few and far between nowadays due to scrap value of years past
There is a local yard near me along similar lines
But the constant "nah thats not for sale" really gets annoying

FYI
The local yard doesnt care what it is or what its worth
They rip all the scrap out straight away (radiators, alloy ect)
Wether its driven in or not

Yer I tend to agree because these beauties are just sitting out in the weather. They appear to be salvagable at the moment in that the rust is surface - but then who nows what lies beneath.

THanks Buggerlugs. I like to think by posting these finds it gives the budding project builders a lift to know that there are still plenty of parts out there

There is a guy in Casuarina in WA that has a yard full of Fords and Holdens of different eras. He even has a bloody highg fence around it ti keep you from seeing what is behind. Managed to jump on the fence one afternoon when he was out, parked out under the sun was numerouse XA and XB's standard and GS/GT's. A few Xy's and fairlanes, a couple of Monaros as well as modern Falcons and Commodores.

Went back a week later and said a friend told me he had a couple of XB's he might e interested in sellling, he flatly told me "NO", these are for my projects. What a waste.

There's been a few of these yards spring up. There's one that's 10k or so south of Grafton that belongs to a wrecker in South Grafton. He'll charge a nominal fee to go back to the paddock to let you in to look. There's aheap of 40's 50's stuff right up till the late 70's. While most things are for sale, too many of them are beyond repair like a HK GTS which was sitting in tall grass. Soon as you opened the door you were confronted with the interior sitting on the dirt due to floor pan rusting right out. In fact nearly everthing below the hip line was paper thin or gone.
