Either way, they are both great cars and you'll no doubt be happy with either.
I would have bought a diesel for sure if they were available when I bought a year ago. But I have no compaints with my Zetec. I've got 26,000kms on it and it's averaging 7.3l/100km. It easily drops to the 6's on purely highway runs. The Zetec interior is quite good and the chunkier alloys and bodykit look much nicer than the LX kit. Couldn't be happier. Hopefully in 2 more years when I'm due to upgrade I'll be able to get a 2.2l diesel with 400Nm of torque and twin-clutch DSG in either Focus or Mondeo.
