Are you talking 6cyl or V8? By all reports the V8 one needs to be a Bluepower unit or G&D and the sixes i am not too sure, try the site sponsors they should be able to help

Where are you? all you need for the na 6 is the typhoon snorkel ($70 odd) and if you want it for the sound go for a pod filter in the airbox if your not fussed about sound just go for the K&N panel filter (both avail at repco) as for installation the panel filter is just a swap over thing the typhoon snorkel needs cutting though.

SS inductions do the job but charge an arm and a leg for it.

Before everyone gives you their opinions, what other mods have you done to it? If, as you say, you just want to go faster, the air induction system is very low on the bang for buck meter...

Maybe you should tell people what car you got so than you can get better advice.

In my opinion, which others can argue, mods can be influenced by what you are after.

e.g. For someone who lives in the city, and rarely goes highway speeds (short trips), then my thoughts would be:

a. Diff gears
b. Stall convertor & transmission cooler
c. Exhaust (for sound reasons)

For someone who lives further out and does lots of highway kms/long trips:

a. Exhaust (extractors + catback)
b. Edit
c. Air induction

Depends on if you want more power - or to accelerate quicker (giving the impression of more power). Also if fuel is a concern, etc, etc.

If I purely lived in the city, and rarely did more than 80km/hr, then I would have 4.11 diff gears and a 2500-3000rpm stall convertor, but seeing as I do lots of highway speeds and above, I'd lose a lot in fuel efficiency.

Anyone is free to have a go at me!

Dan..

I've got an AU auto I6 ute, different engine to the BA, but the mod path is basically the same.

An AU for the highway is basically (in my opinion):

Exhaust (extractors + catback)
Induction
Camshaft
Chip/Edit

For a BA, aftermarket camshafts are pretty uncommon and instead most go with the Edit. As far as an Edit goes, you can get either generic tunes, or custom tunes.

I have an SS inductions snorkel on my AU, and noticed SFA difference. On a BA this might be different, but many people say either Bluepower or G&D intakes (albeit at a price) however F6 intake setups are probably just as good.

This is for sale at the moment. You would have to change the intake pipe tho...

not much point flowing more air into the motor unless it can get out so i would start at the Exhust then induction after that i would get a piggy back ecu and remap to flow more fuel.
That should make a good improvement over the standard motor then if you want more look at forced induction

Get a Typhoon airbox from a wrecker, see if they will install it for you. Should be fairly easy though. Less than half the price of ssinductions
