Default And yet another cluster thread

Hey all, just bought an AU series 1 XR6 cluster. Now I've done the searches and am a bit confused. I realise if it was a series 2 xr cluster it needs to be rewired to suit my series 1 falcon, but is this also the case with an xr1 cluster? If so where are the diagrams to rewire it? In all the threads I've found, there has been links to a series 2 cluster pin diagram or a dead link. Also, the diff gears are different in the xr's so would I be right in guessing the speedo is going to be out?

presuming you are fitting it to a low series vehicle I hope this helps.

Mate of mine used this document on his series one forte and had no problems but someone else said it was slightly different so I suppose it depends on how early a series one it is.

Like I said his XR cluster is up and running perfectly following the directions but it does involve a little mucking around moving wires which can be really fidly when moving to an empty pin.

you don't need to change the speedo gear the different gear in the xr is because it has a 3.36 diff instead of a 3.08 the xr cluster will go in with the wiring mods and the speedo will be as accurate as it was before the swap

Don't believe it does as its a mid series dash.
if you want all that you want the silver faced blue numbered, series 1 TE50 dash.

The mid series cluster still has the DTE function by pushing the trip meter reset for a brief second but pretty sure it wont show the gear but I may be wrong. The trip meter is reset by press and hold of reset button.
Other thing to consider is if you went 2 the trouble of getting a high series cluster some functions may not be right due to having different BEM's.
