Mk2 Cortina paint colour code??

I have recently acquired a mk2 1971 440L cortina. It has the paint code Q, I cannot find any reference for a Q paint code online it is painted yellow colour and it seems original as it is under the vinyl roof.
Does any one know the name of the colour?

Hi. managed to find a listing for "yellow fire" with a "Q" paint code in 72-73 for ford aust. May be the same or it might be a fleet color. Cheers MD

That the info I found. That's why I was confused. It is very clearly a Q paint code. Maybe because it was late 1971 they were playing with the next models colour? Or it might be something to do with it being a 440L. I can't find much listed about them.

Hi You need to look for ford australia paint codes as well. Aussie codes are different and the cortinas were painted here not in england. Cheers MD

Yes it's defiantly a 7/71 mark2

Thanks guys, but I have found all this information myself. That's why I thought I would put it on the forum because I thought someone else may of cone across the same thing. My id plate is very clear. It is a 7/71 with a Q paint code. So I guess it is stumping everyone else as well? Could a Q be for a special order or something?

Dulon manual shows Ford codes for 1971. Q = Yellow Glow

I vaguely recall somewhere that Jeremy Clarkson has said the mark 2 Cortina was sold with self-cleaning paint.

Perhaps this is why its hard to find
