Default V8's for sale everywhere!!!!!

With the recent rise in fuel prices, i've noticed an increase in the amount of v8 flavoured cars for sale increasing. Even 4wd's are trying to be offloaded.

Now this doesn't really bother me that much, as i will be able to buy more of my favourite classic cars, stick em in the shed and run em on club rego I just need a bigger shed!

Some people will continue to own v8's no matter how expensive fuel gets, i think i'll be one of the stubborn ones.

Fuel price hikes just mean a bigger and better selection of the cars i love the most.

I have a little work car with free fuel, so it's great for me at the moment. It's actually a big thing helping me to love the current job i'm in. God knows what i'll do if i ever leave and have to pay for fuel monday to friday myself.

Funny thing the yesterday.. was walking back from the doctor's (being ill sucks), and there's this guy in a VTII SS talking to his mate next to him in an EA (they were parked, talking through the windows)... I didn't hear everything he said.. but what I heard went as follows

"I bought a V8 on gas, getting rid of this thing, its too dear now"

Gonna be more and more people either stepping out of V8s, or stepping from petrol to LPG soon. Almost $1.50/L for PULP.. geez

The thing is they will probably do themselves out of dough, and buy another one when(if) the fuel comes back down.

Have a look how many unfinished project cars are popping up in the Trading Post and the like.. Spent 30k, 10k Clevo with reciepts, as new not run in, 100 percent complete, can't afford to finish and enjoy, Minimal work to RWC etc etc Quick Sale 15k..

It is a buyers market for the big cars like I can never remember

SURELY you can look past someone MENTIONING LPG and let the thread continue its course.

LPG is a viable option, as is selling their beloved cars.

well i guess we better move this to the V8 forums... since it mentioned V8's
this is posted in the PUB.
the PUB is for CAR RELATED discussion.

its really good to see steffo simply mentioning LPG has resulted in the thread being ruined.
i'm sure if it was ignored there would still be discussion of people selling their cars.

Guys lets cool it! Personal opinion/choice etc etc!

Back on topic.... funnily enough there aren't that many V8's for sale round here, there's still a majority of your base model 6 cylinders etc. I put it down to the fact that cos we're in the country, you're doing more long range driving in which cae a well turned and looked after V8 can certainly come into its own.

At least you have it, I've had it and many other are also in that sme boat. Steffo is NOT so all he is talking is pure specualtion and crap.
Mate, I never had any intention of shoving anything down anyone's throat. Was simply commenting on something I really did hear, and if you really want to know, I'll tell you exactly when and where.. which I thought was related to the topic. If you took this any other way, I'm sorry.

the most amusing thing i find about the sale of all these cars is, we've had some big fuel price increases over the last year, but it wasnt until we were hit with something substantial all at the one time that everyone jumps up and down.
its the sudden impact that freaks everyone out.
If i had a V8 i know i'd be considering it, but then that'd be all i'd be doing.
the running costs of any car are going to increase, cost vs fun i guess!

That is a good point. Its not just V8 drivers, its everyone.

I'm sure most V8 owners took into account the higher cost of fuel for their cars. Just like the old lady down the street with the 1.8 lazer. I'm sure she is feeling it too.. Its still costing her more to fill up as well.
