Nice and low and flat. Sounds interesting.

But how would you package that between the wheels in a car? Both transversion or longitudinal installations would struggle. I'd be interested in see what out options there are with the dimensions - short stroke large pistions and stuff like that.

Also, I wonder why it had to be two stroke? Strikes me that there'd be no reason why you couldn't have valves on the side and run it as a four stroke. But they seem like smart people, I imagine that would have been considered.

Rotories are more efficient in mass vs power stakes too but we aren't all cruising around in ****els.

It would be the same as mounting a flat motor. If you wanted to run it E-W you could probably develop a transfer to suit.
Its a two stroke diesel, not to be confused with a whipper snipper motor.
They seem to think a 40% efficiency rate, which would be up there with modern DI turbo diesels, of course the weight saving and reduced cooling effort needed would be the main benefits. Interested to see where they went with it.
I would dare say that balancing now would be alot more accurate than in the early 1900s. Curious to see durability aswell.

2 stroke opposed piston engines have been around for years..
This Commer knocker uses rockers to operate pistons..
These engines used a super charger to assist induction..

Only failure with this design, is the scavenging effect is limited as the ports are fixed. It needs a blower to make it effective (efficient).

It will probably sound like a GM Detroit (aka Scream'n Demon)
