Oh come on lol I keep them a bit longer then that. That list doesnt include the g/fs new XR5 Turbo, but it will eventually come into the equation one day!

Ill be keeping the FG's for a while as I have more pressing things to pay for nowadays like diamond rings, a wedding and a new house

Our friends and family are constantly shocked when we pull up with a new car lol.

Driving for 11 years now and have owned 8 cars, which includes cars for the wife.

Of late, we have been averaging about 2-3 years per vehicle, though this time may increase now as we get into the property investment scene and the money goes elsewhere! I think i am done with pumping all of our income into depreciating assets!

I turned one over pretty quick once. Fell over the edge of the Snowies doing 80km/h and it took less than the blink of an eye.

But usually I keep my cars till they rust away. Some have done half a million kms and when the bodies die I just strip them for the parts needed to keep some of my other oldies going. It's good having lots of cars of the same vintage or thereabouts so many of the parts are interchangeable.

My oldest car is 55 this year. My baby is just 9. There's lots in between! LOL.

After about three years I am ready to update the road car: projects though, they hang around forever.

I've had my car and bike licences for 17 years. I've had 6 cars including the wife's and 3 motorbikes. In order.
92 ZZR250
84 VK Commodore (money pit)
74 Galant
94 Bluebird LX (depreciation...)
94 ZZR250
99 Suzuki SV650* (7yrs)
92 Pulsar 2.0L
99 AU XR6 VCT* (5yrs)
01 AU XL Ute

The XR6 is soon to be replaced by a SX/SY Territory and the SV650 is for sale due to lack of use. So, after the initial turnover, i've settled down to about every 5 years.

i have had so many cars and motorbikes its not funny, my girlfriend dosent car anymore as i said.... i get bored of them.... easier for me to get a new car/bike when im bored than it is to get a new missus.... so she's happy, and even chips in now.... whos wife girlfriend here has spent 6k on airbag suspension or brought their partners a set of 20's LOL

she dosent drive.... not teaching her either, i'd have no room for another toy, and then she wouldnt be able to drive it after i stuffed around with it

Since I started driving, at 16, I've had around 12 cars. Used to turn them over monthly, when they broke down! Had the xr for around 2 years but had other cars during that time as projects.
Next car will be a long termer, will be needing it for work.

Over the last 20 years I normally purchase new on 5 year terms and sell just before payout. Including a nice forklift, lol. In the case of the G6ET it's the first time I went to 3 years. Finance ends in July'11...enough time to have the bugs sorted on a G8E....or so I hope.

I too suffer from this addiction...in fact it was borderline OCD at 1 stage.

I've had my licence 17yrs, but i wont count how many cars i've had, gave that up years ago but must be near 100 by now.

The longest i've ever owned a car is about 12 months.

I thought i had settled down a bit but im already on my 5th this year, i pick up number 6 later this week...lol.

22 cars and 4 bikes in 20 years of driving not counting the never registered 'projects'. A disease alright! Although I've have had my Harley for 8 years and i'll never part with it......probably.

I am 33 and in that time frame since I got my license, I have had 6 vehicle's, Two of which were forced purchases as two previous vehicle's were written of via being rear ended.
I still own 3 of them now.

I think I had some early signs of the disease but managed to kick it about 10 years ago.
Bought my first car in 1995
Bought my 6th car in 2000
Still on my 7th car now.

Spend my money on other things instead. Might have to change soon though...

5 years driving, 4 cars.

1990 magna
1996 Lancer
1990 300XZ
2003 BA XR6 Ute

seeing as the ute has had a new engine, questionable mods and probly will never pass a RWC, I will be keeping it until it dies which will hopefully be a VERY long time...

I'd love to turn my cars over more often as I do get bored of them. But I also tend to buy things that are little different that I dont want to get rid of.

Generally I keep them 3-4 years recently, although my first couple of cars only lasted 12-18 months and a couple of "garage toys" only latsed 6 months a piece.

I've had my BA for 4 years and I will probably have it another 2. I'd be stupid to sell it financially speaking. It's worth peanuts but I know it's well looked after, is in great condition and will last many more kilometres without issue. Plus it's a little different with the 3V under the bonnet.

Well I personally get attached to my cars, plan to keep my current car which is a 2000 AUII Fairmont for until as long as I can, but its cheap to run (SVI LPG), comfy, fun and reliable so there's no need to upgrade really.

I added up all the money I've burnt on cars in the past 15 years and could have bought one real nice Ferrari. Currently have five cars and am switching to bikes because I can fit more in the shed. Four bikes in the shed at the moment and looking for #5.

my last one (AUII I6 futura) was first car i ever got a loan to buy...so i was trying to make it to the end of the 5 years loan...no chance. lasted about 3 & 1/2 years...and i'd been seriously thinking about a change for over 6 months
refinanced remainder of the loan to get my BAII XR6T ute. another 5 year loan, but i know it won't be with me that long. at least i know it's coming this time & the ute will hold it's value better than the old taxi

I normally keep cars for years and years, but have recently traded the BFII RTV after only 2 years, a bit of a rarity for me.
