Default IAT replacement

Hey guys currently i have my xr8 supercharged but under boost when i really load it up it is blowing out the IAT sensor from the intake pipe as it is only that stupid little plastic sensor sitting tight in a rubber grommet.... it is normally fine but when it reaches 8 psi its out of there.

Im just wondering if people have an alternate solution or a better bung that i can weld onto the intake to hold it in there or could i maybe replace it with a screw in style IAT.... Something simliar to this:

or does it HAVE to remain as the stock plastic one due to different resistance's. Sorry if my question is a bit confusing

Default Re: IAT replacement

Glue it in and hope ya never need to change it!

Interesting that listing says AU (on intake manifold) as that isn't the case with any AU's v8's...

The plug looks different to me, but if your happy to rewire it (if required) there shouldn't be a problem as long as the sensor is calibrated the same way and it's in the same position. The coolant and IAT sensors are almost identical in resistances values at corresponding temps IIRC, so that will probably be similar, you'd need to compare it's resistance to your current IAT at a few different temps to see.
