AMEN BROTHER AMEN!!!

Ive also noted another trend. The people on here who seem to be the manly men all seem to have one thing in common. Beers of choice are either.

1) Coopers Sparkeling Ale (its a meal and a beer in 1)
2) Homebrew

My self, #1 is stacked 4cases high in the spare room, and homebrew is in the shed.

Someone mentioned Belgium beer before?... I was in Czech Rep over the new year.. The beer was to die for! And cheap as! A pint was around the equivalent of 80c AU.(NOT in Prague though, where prices have skyrocketed)
Gambrinus was the most common, and a top drop! There was also Primator which at 12% really knocked your socks off!

The list should have included a larger variety of Beers ,you've missed the Cascade Premium one of the best along with Crown and good old Carlton Draught from the tap.
Cheers John

Any of the James Squire range, golden ale, india pale ale, porter Fantastic think I might go grab one now. Also had Cascade Draft on Tap in Tassie over the weekend bloody sensational drop, there tap beer is so much better than what we have here.

Absolutely 100% agree with you. I don't understand why people like Crownies so much. For the dosh there are heaps better Beers out there. I wouldn't even buy it if it were the same price as Vic (which I don't like either)

As for my fav beer. At the moment it's probably San Miguel, but it changes by the week. _2:

Best Beer in Australia - Redback

Best Beer in the World - Hoegaarden

Belgian beer (as opposed to what many people are calling Belgium Beer you uncultured drunks!!) is definitely the nectar of the Gods. Monks, bless their hearts, who brew strong ales to blow your head off. Beers with taste, cheap to buy and don't murder you the next morning. Sensational. Heaven is a Belgian Bar.

Another worth mentioning is Cascade Pale Ale. Some mates in the S.A GT Club drink it and I got a taste for it over there. Good stuff.

I am not a real big beer drinker, but any of the Coopers or James Squire range taste great. Boags is another that goes down well...

They have a couple of good beers at "Five Islands" micro brewery at WIN Stadium in Wollongong.

Cascade premium or crownies for me, if we manage to damage any at work ill drink Sapporo its a Japanese premium beer. Comes in huge tins that almost look like buckets tastes pretty good to.

Actuall I'm gonna go more in depth here cuz I cant beleive how mainstream some of you are when it comes to beer! Id have to put my top five something like this:

1: Tiger Beer (Singapore) What a sweet beautiful drop it is indeed! If it wasn't for the fact that its so hard to get, id become an Alco on it. Its my favourite 100 times over. Nectar of the gods indeed.

2: Asahi Dry: Freakin awwesome beer coming in close second to my beloved tiger, its easier to get so its my regular drop. Was No.1 before I found tiger. One place in melbourne you can get it on tap is 'the Lounge' in swanston street. Much nicer straight from the keg as thats how it comes straight from the land of the red sun..

3: Amstel: Its nice. yeah I like It

4: Stella Artois (belgium). Big fan of it cuz its the mainstream club beer really. Its usually the only beer on tap (along with Becks, draught and Cascade light) when youre out partying (depending on where you go) so it gets a mention here

5: Singha (Indonesian). Good beer that, Little bit similar to tiger, very asian taste about it, but a great thirst quencher nonetheless! Gotta love those stumpy bottles

Also worth a mention is Becks, lovely drop that! Carlton cold, and Fosters Export (EXPORT ONLY). Kilkennys nice, and so is Jim Squire Amber ale. (We sell it on tap at my work along with stella and heineken, which also deserves a meantion)

VB is Shit, Carlton Draught is shit, and so are crownies.
If fosters export is crown lager (which i've heard as well), then the fosters bottle makes it taste nicer, as its one of my favourite aussie beers hahaha.
I dont mind coopers eaither.

Having said all this, jeeze i need a beer!
cheers :
-Danny

haha... Charlie next time you're near a Dan Murphies pick up a Leffe or a Chimay. I think they're around $6.00 a stubbie but the taste of it in a close to 8% alc beer is amazing!

There was this one I had in a German restaurant, was a stout of some sort, tasted like old boots, I just liked the look of the bottle, which I have at home. Almost caused me to crash my beloved ute into my beloved EA (tm)

Have a crack at Little Creatures Pale Ale (from W.A.). The people who originally made Redback, Dogbolter etc produce this awesome home grown brew, not cheap, but worth it.
If you want to try an imported beer, Pilsener Urquell (meaning original) from the Chech Republic. Great hot weather beer, clean, crisp and hoppy.

Can't go past home brew! $40 for ten slabs... I've still got a mixed slab left over from two years ago (I am not a big drinker). I'd say that 95% of my beers turn out fine, with the odd bottle here & there turning out "bad". I got really mean headaches of my first couple of batches (back when I was in high school), but my most recent (2003) batches are quite drinker-friendly, and potent! :

I'm looking forward to brewing another half dozen or so slabs in the winter holidays coming up :

Cartlon Draught. Why? Because i can get slaughtered on it and come home at 4am, and then get up at 11:30am and have another with breakfast and not feel like chundering! I like Carton Draught, and the occasional Carlton Premium Dry slab (when on sale cheap). They do the job for a povo uni student. Oh, and Bravara (or however you spell it) is drinkable when it's cheap too.

I can't stand Carlton Cold or "coldies" as we called 'em when we were 15 and getting hammered on them when we went camping, only to throw our guts up all the next day. Tooheys New is worse than cat ****, and Fosters... well i can still remember the last fosters i tasted, and it was a VERY long time ago. I don't much like crownies either, but i can drink 'em if they're free and the only beer available.
