Default MR WHEEL DEAL are these seconds

l ordered wheels from, MR WHEEL DEAL but when they arrived from USA. l was quite disappointed to find one has a lot of ripples on the spoke which are very noticeable. MR WHEEL DEAL asked for photos then told me that its shipping damage and try using some polish. The boxes are perfect and the chrome is unmarked. l am a retired spray painter and think l can tell shipping damage from in my opinion poor manufacturing quality. l dont like how this is panning out so far.

You take a gamble when buying from overseas - some you win - some you don't

Nice Wheels - What did they cost you?

Looks like the platers have have screwed the pooch to use the american term, i would take some more photos and send them to the seller and let him know your not very happy with them(in a polite way), he may recompense you some $$$, i have heard the of the odd case were sellers sent out new replacements on some items and said don't bother sending the old ones back ........ i probably wouldn't hold my breath for that, but i would definitely try for some $$$ satisfaction, you never know he might send newys out..

That would be good its only one of the wheels that's like this the other one is perfect. they said they inspect every wheel is 100% before shipping but someone obviously let the team down (or they need better lighting). You would think only dealing in wheels they would be aware of this kind of fault. And return these to manufacturer as seconds themselves instead sending them out.

No its hard to tell in the photos but they are low spots like you get in hi fill that hasn't been blocked out a couple mm deep. The chrome is perfect. Its only on 1 wheel. The other ones perfect.

I wouldn't accept it either, if they were $200 each maybe but not $450 each. Keep on to them and ask how they think it could be freight damage when the box is unmarked. They will just be hoping you go away. How did you pay for them?? as if its through Paypal than contact them. If its by Credit card check if you can do something with the bank. Challenge them on the fact that the are false advertising if they say that they are inspecting every wheel, even though it might have been hard to notice this on a quick inspection which is all they would be doing. Maybe offer to pay the freight 1 way for the return and replacement of 1 wheel.

Polishing won't get those ripples out. The chrome plating is only very thin. It would be in the nickel/copper plating whatever they did underneath the chrome plating or in the alloy itself that hasn't been prepared or polished properly for the final plating. They must have missed this spoke while doing it (its one spoke I understand?).

Its all spokes on one wheel only, other wheels perfect. l agree about it being in the preparation of the wheel before chroming. If l saw same thing in a paint job l would say the hi fill or filler was not blocked down properly.

I purchased my wheels from MR WHEEL DEAL and mine are also American Racing they are only a budget wheel but mine are perfect, Are you dealing with Steve??? He provided great service for me and was quick on his email replies, I would be surprised if he doesn't come to the party with replacing it but if not try contacting American Racing direct considering it is actually there product that has the poor workmanship.

What I did just pick up on is mine arrived in plain brown cardboard boxes and yours are in branded colour boxes maybe they never checked yours. Maybe my wheels are a different size to yours hence the different boxes I had 2 off 17x8 and 2 off 17x9.5

All resolved Vice president of MR WHEEL DEAL took a look at the wheel and agreed with me that it was a manufacturing fault and replaced it no cost to me. To be fair it was hard to spot this while the wheel was in the box.

Most places like this are on-sellers. They order the parts...wheels, other bits and pieces...and they arrive in boxes, and are usually never checked before being sent on to the customer.

Sometimes the seller is indeed just the meat in the sandwich and can't really be blamed.

Let them know about this link and how good customer service wins out every time when selling to countries like Australia.

We reward those with good forum PR when they honour their commitment to us.

Most likely will help the next guy that has an issue
