That article is a complete waste of space, why don't they wait till there released then do it properly.

There both ugly as sin, I'll take the current versions of either over the new ones.

Im in no way a Subaru fan, but I respect them when they look good. Im still gob smacked they even contemplated building that thing to begin with.

Est for both funnily enough is:

0-60mph 4.5s
400m 12.5s

They will be quick enough regardless.

We have sort of an unofficial name for the MY08 now. It is called "Betty" as in Ugly Betty the show :

At least it will always sound better than an EVO unless they find a way to kill the burble _

Actually now that I've had time to think about it. Its really not that bad. Sure it would be nice to have a sedan. But this hatch version is better looking than the old/current WRX hatch.

Both look like crap. The WRX looks like a BMW 1 series and the Evo just looks horrible!

neither have ever been what you would call good looking cars , but i kinda like the new STI there will be a sedan but US only

last year i had the oppertunity to look at a wrx & evo side by side on hoists both brand new in the workshop of a dealer in nambour ,and after going over both came to the conclusion that in terms of build quality, strength & attention to detail subaru kills mitsu.

I'm not too keen on the styling on either but i'm sure they'll grow on me. They will be better than their earlier variants in the other area's so that makes up for it a bit anyway.

Whilst the topic has been brought up again, it seems that the new STi will be faster than the EVO. Would be quite a turn around!

No it doesn't - GT spec B only gets about 5-10kW over the Liberty GT... it's about 190kw from memory. The WRX STi produces no less than 206kw.
The new WRXes are very strange, as horrid as you think they look in photos, pop down to your local dealer and have a look in the metal. I couldn't believe how much better it looked when I was standing next to it, it's an awesome car to drive.

And re: the STi being faster - the last few STi's have been faster than the evo 0-400m but the evo has dominated on the track - and this is looking to be the case for the new models as well.
(The last STi was a tiny bit quicker around the track than the evo IX - but the 06/07 STi has standard semi-slicks)

0-400 13.6 for the STI
