Default Got my car running finally!

the car is running, it doing weird things at the moment, i think i need to take it for a long drive so it learns the cam and the extra flow it has now. The idle goes good then starts blowing black smoke then goes good keeps repeating that cycle. I took it for a 5min drive and it seems to be improving i didnt take it past 2200. Fingers crossed it snapps out of it and goes good. iT miteneed a new oxy again and spark plugs

Joe my car is doing the same thing. You need a tune and get it set up properly. Your car will pull good numbers. You have alot more air in there from cam etc so the ecu is running rich because it thinks its running dangerously lean and pumps more fuel in as a safety strategy.

Take it for a big drive ya Pussy 400km round trip ..

C-ya Tomorrow

it might settle down then .. your battery was disconnected for over a week and then on start up it went flat.. give the computer a bit of a chance to learn again .. if that fails then try some thing else

yeah, the ecu needs to re-learn how the engine is running. new o2 once you have given the girl a good run and then check your plugs and leads, they may be ok, but will be good to be prepared to replace them. a good run including high revs will also fully charge the battery

took it for a run today to melbourne and back. Mite be getting a little better, i put iridium tips sparks in that helped a fair bit. Checked all leads they are fine, the power seems to come on late sumtimes, or if your doing 20km-25kms then go for it it give u a nice shuve in the back. At the moment im looking at a Vernier gear just to get that fine tuning into it, i may put it on the dyno for a diagnosis this week to to see what is happening. Its drinking a bit more fuel as well but its running rich too!

Nar..driving it around wont help your probs mate.Good move on the iridiums though ..they seem to fire even in that environment when the standards clog up and die.Dont waste your fuel..the car needs a chiptorque or edit.Until then watch the fuel gauge drop like a fly to mortrein flyspray.
