What's the best look, a standard white mask, a standard coloured mask or a head scarf wrap like the camel jockeys wear?
I'm leaning towards the full head wrap camel style mainly because it would be easier to make with unlimited colours & designs but I'm a little concerned about social taboos.

Size? Length x Width? How to wrap your head?
All help appreciated.

I found a 300g porterhouse and chips at a pub in Christchurch for $19 NZD - great deal! That's $34 at my local.

I'd like to go back but maybe fly across and hire something like an SS Commodore and drive across the country instead, I don't mind the cruise ship but you're limited to a couple hours off the ship before you gotta get back on and NZ has some sweet terrain to haul *** across.

The boots are because I only own two pairs of shoes and the boots are the multi tool - formal? collared shirt, suit, tie and shine up the boots

Unzud is an incredible place. Unbelievable beautiful, you go half an hour and it's completely different. The people were so friendly everywhere we went. I seriously looked at moving there. Driving is absolutely the way to go. We flew into auckland drove around the north, back to auckland, plane to nelson, drove around the south. Christchurch and home. The roads are fantastic, the cops were actually friendly, the sounds were breathtaking (you MUST do Queen Charlotte drive).

The thing that bothered me most though is there seemed to be a few really wealthy and lots of people just barely getting by, and not much in between.

I think 18 or so fellow medical staff now in isolation.

Yeah, take the mining and housing boom/bubble away and that describes Australia. It's increasingly likely we are going to end up like that when ore and gas doesn't get get exported and people are in debt more than what their houses could be worth soon.

There will still be rich people because they bought rock bottom cheap in the 90s though. But everything after that was a debt lie of wealth with cheap credit built on a mining boom economy and the banks lending too easy on free rising equity.

More people spotted today in my work travels, not bothered by the rules. Doubles tennis stood out for me...

Also, my client and his family were home today - it had no impact on my work as I was not needing to engage with them - but they (engaged in financial and property related jobs) indicated a decent number of Sydney offices were intending to cease the “work from home” initiative post-Easter.

An interesting extract (if true) from that article:

Quote:

If the chatter across social media is to be believed, it is being said that Liberal MP and Assistant Defence Minister, Alex Hawke, who represents the Hills District in Sydney’s bible belt, had some bizarre part to play in the widening scandal.

It has been alleged the parents of Hawke’s wife Amelia were onboard the Ruby Princess along with some friends from the Hillsong Church. Hawke and his family are proud Pentecostal Christians, much like our Prime Minister, Scott Morrison.

There's something fishy going on with this whole saga. It was quite bazaar how infected people were allowed to walk off the ship, no checks done, mix with the community, catching public transport etc., spreading the virus even further before making their way home. Very bazaar indeed.

A criminal investigation has now been launched by NSW Police into this massive cock-up.

edit: CH7 has a special on this saga tonight 7:00pm (in 20 minutes)

England death numbers are higher than what has been reported. England is only including deaths that occurred in a hospital, and tested positive to Covid-19.

Quote:

Notes about data on deaths

Figures on deaths relate to patients who have died in hospital in England and who have tested positive for COVID-19.

We do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes. Our approach allows us to compile deaths data on a daily basis using up to date figures. Our data includes confirmed cases reported as at 5pm the previous day. Confirmation of COVID-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days, so totals reported at 5pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days.

In addition to our data, the Office for National Statistics are now publishing weekly counts of deaths in which COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate. This publication is to be issued every Tuesday, starting on 31st March. It will include cases outside hospital and will also include some cases where COVID-19 is suspected, but no formal diagnostic test has taken place. ONS data will initially cover England and Wales only and will report on registered deaths up to 11 days before the date of publication.

Before anyone says "What" about fishing , our State pollies said we can do a few activities like that so long as we do it by yourself or with one other person and follow social distancing rules . It's listed as helping toward mental wellbeing on the coronavirus website . There are some advantages to living in a State with low population . Premier Gutwien also said the same on the daily press conference a few days ago .. Good on him and I didn't even vote for him .

Wrong. My daughter does nutrition and diatetics. The role vitamins play is fairly well established.

If you have a healthy diet (which we do) then most, if not all of the vitamins you need are taken care of. Yes, being healthy will help you fight any virus you get. It won't stop you dying though if you get something bad enough. Not to mention if you have a compromised immune system.

All praise to anyone who can stick to a decent diet I reckon . Got to help for all sorts of reasons virus or no virus. I do eat some junk at times and am a tick on the heavier side than ideal let's just say .

In this regard to what I take in to my body is I've not chosen to smoke mostly on the back of watching Mum go primarily because of it thirty years ago and I don't drink . No issues with anybody who does though. No preaching from me on either because it's whatever you choose is your choice , nobody else.

Both my daughters are type 1 diabetic and my wife is coeliac. Both auto immune diseases. Eating healthy isn't that hard when it's habitual. No alcohol or smokes either. I also cycle to work and average about 250-300km a week on the bike. Being healthy is important especially when immune systems are compromised.

I think you will find much of it is illusionary, many people pretending to be wealthy using lines of credit against forever increase property values. Let’s see where C19 leaves these people. Unfortunately there will be collateral damage caused to many people who had the gumption to save rather than live off from credit.

Has anyone heard any rumblings about NSW schools going back next term? As it stands my wife and I are "lucky" enough to both be working and once schools close I am not entirely sure how we are meant to do that and home school?

I can "WFH" but certainly not effectively, wife has been home the last couple of weeks thankfully and even then its hard not to be distracted.

How are others going?
