Default 2006 LS Clutch

Driving the wifes 2006 LS Focus manual today. Changed from 2 to 3. No clutch.
Stopped the car. Clutch pedal on floor.
Lifted by hand back to normal position and has worked ok...but only driven a couple more kms and driven into and backed out of garage a couple of times.

Wife says car has made high pitched noise from cold may or not may be related.

Car has done 108000kms.

Anyone got an idea on what caused the clutch to fall to the floor and what the fix would be.

Default Re: 2006 LS Clutch

The clutch pedal return spring was a known problem on earlier models. Its inside the car and above the pedal. Otherwise you may have problems with the clutch master cylinder which has a spring inside it. These are cheaper than a broken clutch pressure plate which should give consistent problems.
