Monday before last, broke the 30 year old clutch cable on my daily.

Took the guts to FDA for a re-make.

Still waiting.

Tuesday before last, I ordered an NOS replacement from the UK.

Guess which one I received first?

My father has become convinced this afternoon, that he is supposed to have three legs, and one is missing. So he’s shuffling around, looking for the missing foot and slipper. Not kidding.

Sorry mate but thats kind of funny, my ol boy used to take up all the family documents up too the local Indian dairy/deli owner for safe keeping when he started loosing it, not pleasant at times but there were some funny moments, he ended up in a new secure dementia unit which he then escaped from after a couple of days. (was silently a bit proud of him for that little escapade)

Had to go get another scan done on my arm today. So on the way i swung into 7/11 for a drink. Go to pay, and the bloke in front takes his sweet **** time deciding what he wants. Then he goes to pay for fuel, but his mate was still filling the car up. So did he step aside like a normal person, no. Then the bell end goes to pay, first card declined, 2nd declined and his mate runs in to get food, and again, this bloke did not step aside. So that was frustrating. Followed by the results of the scan showed nothing wrong, even though my arm still after 3½ years acts up on occasion. To the point where its been twitching all day and that is out of my control. I had to get the lovely lady at the pathology place to fill out my paperwork for me. So nice of her to do that, but another frustration for me. I hate having to ask people to do basic things like that when i cant. It to me feels very belittling.

Went to pick up a slab on the way home and their computers and EFTPOS was ****ed so was there sweating balls waiting for that when I just wanted a coldie.

Great day. The Blues better win tonight

It looks like my PS3 (80gb fat model) is officially dead. Got the dreaded YLOD though it is weird because it is usually caused by heat and I've barely used mine in a year and it dies on cold boot. The fan is working.

I pulled it apart and blew the dust out of it and sure the thermal paste aint great but surely it can't get that hot on startup that it ****s itself?

That didn't work so I formatted the HDD and same problem. It would seem to be a MB failure I'm just trying to work out if it is able to be fixed or if I can offload it for parts since I hate throwing **** out unless there are no options.

Poor old DD Pug has the oil pressure light just flickering at hot idle after a good thrash. I’m tempted to go 15W40 instead of HPR10 and see if that staves off a rebuild for six months. Bakers at Molong used to be the place for out-of-block liner bore/hone, so it won’t be a one weekend refresh.

Oh, and I’ll treat it kinder.

^^^^ Wouldn't something a bit thicker when fully warmed be better ?? ie if you're currently using a 10/40, then go up to a 10/50.

Fair point. I was probably worried about startup in the face of proven wear, more than the hot idle, but can see where you’re coming from. Spent two hours reading up on relief spring swaps and pump drive sprocket changes to further improve.

Rebuild will exceed the car’s value considerably.

I was stressed out on friday. Had to for irrelevant reasons prove medical records and prove disability and all stuff that is irrelevant to settling an estate im in the will for. But i done that. So i called my mum hoping she'd have something nice to say. She did, but then sho goes the disability thing was probably to do with when i had a stroke. Eh, i dont remember having a stroke. She tells me it was a few weeks before i was born, so a complication. So i asked why she never told me? She never told me because i never asked. But who asks their mum that?

Anyone else in Sydney smashed by hayfever today?

I’ve been sneezing almost uncontrollably since nine-ish, my part time colleague 20km away reports the same. Figure it’s either pollen or harvest dust.

Hmmmmmm. Im still a tad bit annoyed. I slashed the top section of my backyard. I dont often go up there so i half **** it when it comes to garden maintenance. It borders a newly constructed child care centre. So i slashed it with the whipper snipper with the aim of hitting it with my mower to make it presentable again. No chance of hitting it with the mower. Too much builders rubble. I dont really want my shins turned into swiss cheese. But what really gets up my goat. Its just lazyness. Pallet wrap, reminants of pretty much the range from 7/11. Ive spent many years working on site, but thats just sloppy. With the builders rubble, if it was just a little bit, id let that slide. Form work is never perfect. But its enough to need to hit it with a chissel on a hammer drill on hammer. But the human rubbish. Thats not on. And its relatively recent. Ive known about the rubble for months. The childcare centre has been 'finished' for 6 months, but remains unopened and has constant remeidial works being done, so my guess is it isnt up to scratch. But i suppose if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Still ****es me off though. A bunch of grubs.

..4.., you should make a formal complaint to council about this. Any builders refuse falling onto your property is not on. It also stinks of lazy and careless and incompetent management.

Ive done the whole council thing before. They just put their hands in the air and wiggle their fingers like fairys. Its not worth the expense of legal fees to take it to court. Im balls deep in legal fees for another unrelated issue. Its just bs. A little slag from formwork. Righto. But its closer to that a cooling lava run from an active volcano, just made of concrete. If the human waste was just something that say the wind took a hold of, thats just incidental. But, i semi cleaned it up, well the human stuff. The bin got collected this morning.
Could be worse. My brothers neighbor got new carpet and the insides painted. The painters messed up the carpet. Didnt do a very good job painting. When the warenty job was done, the paint was still sub standard, but they left a bucket. And they crapped in the bucket. Thats past what the term deplorable means. My council isnt terrible, but they suck at dispute resolutions.

The last mob i worked for wasnt the cheapest around. But we never skimped on materials or workmanship. Keeping it clean was a big deal. And, keeping it clean makes for a much nicer work environment. Its not uncommen for people to go for the best price, then be dissapointed for poor work. Its cowboys. Oportunistic people paying peanuts and not giving a crap towards clients. All to make a dollar. Its all to common these days. There is no longer such thing as a future proofed solution. Its all the cash grab.

It was a kick in the guts to read this, nothing compared to what the poor buggers have obviously lived through. Just nice to deal with, did good work.

When laying/lying in bed and you hear a car door slam out the front just before midnight, by the time you get out there nothing looks amiss.

Check the security vision next day and find some one has taken a leak on the road.

Video of said event and no that's not my cat either.

Check number 6.
When there is no urinal nearby, you can urinate on the left rear tire of your vehicle.
No need to wander with your legs clenched looking for a bathroom. If there is not a urinal handy, it is legal to urinate on the left rear tire of your vehicle.

Growing up i had a mate whos dad flexed that rule all the time. He had no shame. Would pull over anywhere and water down the rear left tyre. I beleive its an old law from the horse and cart days thats never been updated. I may be wrong, but thats the reason my mates dad gave to his embarrassed kids when he would do it when they had friends in the car.
