Default Fiesta ST Hatch lock delay?

Hi guys,

Just noticed this before, not sure if it's always been the case? When locking the car, there is a delay before the hatch will lock (i.e. the doors will lock immediately, but I'm still able to open my boot for a certain period of time). Wondering if this is the case for other FiST owners or if mine is faulty.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

cheers,
Julza

Locks straight away with the car. Are you sure you don't still have the key fob on you? That will let you access the hatch even if the car is locked. Leave your key away from the car and you should see that it's locked right away.

Tested just now to confirm.

^ This is correct, it is a feature of the keyless entry - if you have the fob on you the hatch will unlock whenever you try to open it.

It's a cool feature of the keyless entry, very handy not to have to try locate your keys when your carrying a heap of shopping bags or similar. Just drop down the hatch again when your loaded, and as long as you have not unlocked the doors the car remains locked!
