Hey LR Focus owners!
Ford have just reduced the price of the ST170 pedals, music to my ears!!!!! They're now priced much better, meaning no more having to import them. Wish I'd bloody known that before I paid to have the wrong ones sent from the USA!!!  out: Considering you can't get these from the USA, they're not available through Europeanparts.net and they're rare as hens teeth off Ebay.co.uk (especially when they're priced in pounds when you DO find them), this is not bad at all. Anyway, here's the important details (all prices including GST) ST170 Accelerator Assembly - Part number 2M5V 9P732 AA - $60.89 ST170 Brake and Clutch Pad - Part number 2M5V 2457 AA - $59.95 each (need 2) Total price for accel assembly and 2 pads comes to $180.79. That's about $100 less than a week ago! :sm_headba :1syellow1 So go out and buy up gang, I'm heading there on my way home from work today. Just have to try and flog the wrong ones back on Ebay to some American. Grrr

Does that mean I have the "genuine" full priced ones, and you'll have the dodgy "discounted" ones????
 They're good pedals guys, worth getting (practise your yoga before you install the accelerator pedal though) Still reckon the brake and clutch are a bit exxy

Whats the difference compared to "normal" pedals? I know you can get pedals with raised edges to make heel toe easier

They rubber pads come off and the metal pads go on the clutch and brake. The accelerator assembly is replaced with an entire new one. The heights are not really any different and the pedals are about the same size too, it's mainly aesthetic, not designed for racing or heel/toe changing.

Hey zetec where did u get this price for st170 accelerator pedal?
I called up new oak ford in oakleigh 2day. Some @#!$% picked up and gave me a quote for $457 plus tax just for the st170 pedal. No matter how hard i tried to make him understand that its just the pedal im after, he wudnt understand. Like a robot he kept repeating " I can tell u only what i see on the computer mate!! amd it says st170 accelerator pedal and bracket - $457 plus tax !!!!!!!!!!!!!". Finally I had to give up. Seems like the place where u found the price, has employed real PEOPLE. Atleast I can TALK to them

I also went to my local Ford Dealer In Morley W.A. and thay gave me a qote for $70 each on the break and cluch peddle and thay had no further info on the accelerator peddle in regards to the price change.
The parts manager said he will call ford in Melb on monday to check for any price change. To be honest i don't know what these guys do at work, its not like there flat out.

The price has definitely changed, I think the Dealers computer systems may just take time to update. The other problem is Dealers may have bought the parts (if they're already in stock) at the old price so that might explain higher quotes because the Dealer would probably not sell at a loss. Happened to me, I'm going to look around.

Ok, after lots of "yoga" as some1 put it, I finally managed to get it in place.
For those who are planning to do it themselves, be prepared to be extremely annoyed by the little rubber piece that holds the accelerator cable in place. I cudnt get it out no matter what i tried. So I had to cut it open.

Now i have ordered the whole set not for $180 but for $150. What a deal. Know Im goinind to practice some yoga.

Can someone please take a detailed photo of the accelerator pedal for me? I need to know what the 'arm' looks like going from the pedal. Whether it has a bend in it. I've been wondering for ages if these will fit a Cougar (because of other parts shared with Focus), if they do, I'll be buyin' a set too.
The US Cougar's have similar pedals to the ST170, but obviously they won't fit our RHD cars. Thanks for anyone who can help me. Dan

yep. spot on. bought mine for $60.89 each.
Although, I have to agree with photn. When I asked for a quote for st170 lower grille, it was 104 something. When I went to buy it, it was just 89....U guessed it right, I didnt complain!!  :

i just ordered 2 pads. 1 for clutch and 1 for brake. they are comming up from melb. and getting a titanium finnish gaiter surround also from melb.
