Also there's still only 10,000 cases out of the 6.5M Victorians - that's still pretty good odds.

I think the biggest concern is the trendline, not necessarily the magnitude of current cases. Continuing to go up is not a good thing.

Even allowing for the timing differences between the data I use (which is global) and the locally produced numbers, we still end up with ~716 new cases and 13 deaths for Australia both of which are a new daily record surpassing the 537 (Mar-28) and 10 (Jul-26).

Now granted my mum lives in nsw, but she went to qld with her boyfriend to visit his kids for a few weeks and was asked at the border to proove where she had been for the past 14 days. That was easy enough, 2 weeks of transaction history from the bank and prove its her card. Yes that could be falsified if you were a dodgy bastard. She also had to give a valid reason to cross the border. Her and her boyfriend were visiting/staying with his kids. Mind you his youngest is 45 or something. And they ask all the other questions etc.
But it really shows how all it takes is people doing the dodgey against recomendations to ruin it for everyone. Doctors and scientists didnt spend countless hours of reasearch and having to agree on moves to try and prevent the spread for no reason. Untill they develop a vacination, the 1%ers just need to do what the majority do, and just accept that at the moment, measures to prevent are the only known option that has seen any form of success in somewhat slowing things down. Its not as if the people doing the reasearch are pussy footing about, it just takes time to work it all out.

I do find it strange that (as far as I know) they are the only ones who have had their names as well as faces shown in the media.

The government didn't reveal their identity. It was the general public.

More of the story is unfolding each day.

They did go to Melbourne, to steal\handbags?
They did host a drunken party at an Airbnb. Cops got called and shut down the 'gathering'

I wonder what their clients might be thinking?

What happened with her car? Cops broke the window to get her out didn't they? I wonder if it was towed. At least she is up for a new window.

combine that to making an *** of herself publically thats gotta at least get her on the waiting list for a new job.

Then having to say "Oh that wasn't me that was someone else" for the rest of her life at each new job interview after she's changed her name and moved to another part of the country has gotta hurt.

Then having to go on anti-depressants to stave off the constant public slander getting to you.

Yeah its not gonna be easy for her.

Questions:

All Govt can do to anybody not following new quarantine or other pandemic related rules, is to give them a fine?

So, is it a criminal offence or not? They can only get prosecuted for false declaration and not for any other breaches??

I am confused.

George V

Not sure what charges are applied but the extra cleaning of the local school that was closed cost around $4000. We should be asking those women to pick up the tab for that.

The brother of one of the girls caught in QLD is playing the race card...
https://www.news.com.au/world/corona...d57c211fe8913c

seems like a real bright person

also, not only did these girls lie (knowingly, equals not a mistake) to get across the border, even once tested they failed to isolate before getting the results back. There is no way you can't know the procedures unless you are living under a rock. Their actions are deliberate, and should be treated as such.

My folks live at Greenbank and regularly shop at Grand plaza, browns plains and Orion, Springfield. Thankfully my old man jumps in with my brother whenever he heads out west for work (birdsville, winton, longreach etc) so its just mum that is at home. The risk of infection is still very low but shows how easily it can happen.

Making sure that you put your one and only hope is in a rushed version of a vaccine.

The US has a vaccine court to handle claims of injury from vaccines. As part of this scheme vaccine manufacturers are exempt from liability claims. This was introduced to restore confidence in vaccines after the fraudulent claims by deregistered doctor Andrew Wakefield whose falsified research led to fears that vaccines cause autism.

In America when the "president" spoke about hydroxychloroquine it caused a rush buy and patients with conditions treated by the drug could not source it.

https://www.propublica.org/article/l...irus-treatment

Do you think that's fair?

Virology comprehensive medical report of Chloroquine as 'potent inhibitor' of Coronovirus infection. This is the official publication of Dr Fauci's National Institute of Health. These are finding from 2005.

https://virologyj.biomedcentral.com/...1743-422X-2-69

Quote:
Conclusion
Chloroquine, a relatively safe, effective and cheap drug used for treating many human diseases including malaria, amoebiosis and human immunodeficiency virus is effective in inhibiting the infection and spread of SARS CoV in cell culture. The fact that the drug has significant inhibitory antiviral effect when the susceptible cells were treated either prior to or after infection suggests a possible prophylactic and therapeutic use.
So why the cloak and dagger BS about this form of treatment?

Maybe, for starters, because it was publishing 15 years ago, and we’re talking about COVID-19.

I don't think disputing a medical journal because of its date is worthy of debunking whether or not Chloroquine is actually useful. Yes there are many coronaviruses out there. But they are all closely related based on these findings. Ignoring this potential existing drug option is pointing towards other agenda's at play.

As I understand it, coronavirus is just one of the causes of the common cold. According to wikipedia, coronavirus only accounts for around 15% of colds:

Quote:
The common cold is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. The most commonly implicated virus is a rhinovirus (30–80%), a type of picornavirus with 99 known serotypes.[29][30] Other commonly implicated viruses include human coronaviruses (≈ 15%),[31][32] influenza viruses (10–15%),[33] adenoviruses (5%),[33] human respiratory syncytial virus (orthopneumovirus), enteroviruses other than rhinoviruses, human parainfluenza viruses, and human metapneumovirus.[34] Frequently more than one virus is present.[35] In total, more than 200 viral types are associated with colds.[3]
I haven't put this here to dispute what you've said, prydey, rather as a way to inform people, like me, who didn't know any of this. It was you post that prompted me to look into it a bit more, so thanks.
