Default Does anyone know what happened to the Tonka Shop?

Hey guys

Not sure if it has been mentioned on here yet. i'm over in sydney for top gear and went to the tonka shop only to find it has been burned to the ground.

Can anyone fill me in on what happened?

Dave

I think you answered your own question! :-)

From what I remember, Yes, it burned to the ground and I believe the owners are not going to start up again. This is only going off memory from what I read in one of the Ford mags, street or performance I can't remember which.

that was about 1 and a half years ago wasnt it?

burned down, lots of parts and original parts destroyed and they were not gonna rebuild.

I spoke to mate of mine who knows john well. he told me john lost an XY GT and all the parts to another phase 3 that had been stripped for restoration. the block is salvageable apparently. but still such a shame. apparently it was over an argument to do with some 5 slot wheels.
