Just one? I can fit 3.
4.5 if I didn't have a LPG tank..... When I don't, just my RACQ membership card. That's all you need these days.

pair of sneakers and my spare wheel/jack. I prefer to have a clean boot than hear stuff rolling around in the back when Im attacking the corners. Reminds me, I gotta take those shoes out.

Hmmm...lets see
Bottle jack, wheel nut socket, chamois, tyre shine, sponge, snatch strap, tow strap, 2 x 4.5T rated shackles, recovery hitch, gloves, rags, jumper leads, hand cleaner, spare wheel (duh!!), large bucket. All hidden below the floor so nothing visible in the boot , and no rattles. My wife's car on the other hand, looks like the local tip....................

I'm afraid I have absolutely no belief in the claptrap about "keep all the weight possible out of your car" to "increase your fuel economy". 10kg one way or another is going to be literally unmeasurable on your fuel economy...and if that was true, then keep your tank nearly empty all the time, that way you save fifty or sixty kilograms.
In the Triton, behind the rear seat is a chamois, cleaning cloth, set of four ratchet straps, jack, tyre iron, towbar hitch, and some rags, as well as a small tool kit. In the back, there's a tyre inflator compressor...heavy duty one...and a recovery kit with snatch strap and a couple of big d-rings. In the "boot" of the Celica (under the liftback, technically) is a small tyre air compressor, tyre iron, chamois, polishing cloth, bottle of lead replacement fuel additive, and the hidden in the factory hidey hole on one side is the jack and factory tool kit. In a hatch on the other side is a one liter bottle of top up oil and a liter of radiator fluid. Behind the seats of the WB V8 ute is a toolkit in a small sized ammo box, a jack, a wheel spanner, and the long handle that winds down the spare wheel. Um......no. Just thought it would be an interesting idea. Mine is for preventative maintenance. I used to have a lot of **** in my Alfa but my XR8 I'm keeping clean.

I miss-read that at first. I thought it was leverage for another situation.
