Wink Who is doing what to their car this year?

So, here we are 5 days into 2010 . . . still don't know what happened to October.

What is your "THIS YEAR I'M GUNNA DO . . ." list for your car?

I know Melbzetec is jacking up the radiator cap and pushing a newly rebuilt motor under it shortly.

And I suspect sumpPUMP is off for a pedicure . . . but what about everyone else?

Are you doing anything interesting? :eclipsee_

Fredo

This is my plan (will be interesting to see how it pans out)

~ March: Dreamscience unit (mmm tuned goodness)
~ June / July: catback exhaust (get her popping / cracking like she should)
~ September / October: Intercooler (keep temps safe for warmer weather while running DS)

Apart from that I'd like to do springs at somepoint possibly.

Get Minor Panel damage repaired (Insurance), Set of Super Low Kings, and maybe a Cat Back Zorst or just Muffler more so for sound rather then power gain..... nothing too drastic.

Well, unintentionally, rims now I suppose, and lowered, I guess I'll have to....

My plans were actually going to all be interior stuff.

Tint windows, integrated sat/nav, chrome inside door handles, leather seats and door trims, centre console with arm rest, and rear vents, oh, and rear passenger lighting!

Did the sun visor lamps the other day (2009). Look, and work great. Also did a Nokia blutooth kit. Also works great.

Maybe play with the instrument cluster, if I can find a cheap one.

Me thinks this will all come back and bite me on the *** by Christmas this year...

Hoping to buy an AU xr6 (manual), replace stereo head unit, xr50 body kit, AMG quake rims, instead of white illumination change it to blue and hopefully not crash it. But it's hard to say I might complete any of this due to time and money, but least I can do is try.

Great idea for a thread

Well, for me:

Brand new short motor (by necessity....damn it)
Will include a fully ported U.S. 2000 intake manifold (better flow)
ARP main studs
Quaife Torque Sensing LSD (whilst I have the engine out anyway)
Custom radio surround (details to remain a surprise)
Wilwood brake calipers and 13" slotted (aluminium hat) discs on front
4 x Boston Acoustic SL80 component speakers, and a JL Audio G4500 4 channel amp (Yes, Melbzetec finally enters the world of ICE....but tastefully!!!!) :sm_headba

All components have been purchased....just got to get them fitted!
All the ICE components are second hand, in great condition, planned, and gradually picked during last 12 months on Ebay for low prices. (Amp $150. One pair of speakers today $96. Other pair $130 )

There's a big list of things I'd like to do but i need to finish the little lady's car first.

I might try and sneak a few cheap mods past the war office though:
De-res (been procrastinating on that one for a while)
Maybe a Simota CAI if i can get one cheap enough. Not the best CAI but you can buy about three or four simotas for every dreamscience CAI.

I was looking at my car in the carpark at work today thinking it'd look nice lowered but i had to force myself not to pick up the phone and start ordering parts.

Well exhaust is done as of lunch time today. Really happy with the sound, not too loud, just a nice tune. The tip doesnt look great, but thats my fault for choosing one he said would be too big! Might get a new tip down the track - will have to post pics later on!

I just bought mine! I have had it 3 years, but I leased it. Just paid out the residual today. It's already tinted and has mats and sheepskin seat inserts, Rola racks and roof pod. I'm going to put a towbar on it this year for occasional box trailer rental etc.. That's about it. 80,000km so far and couldn't be happier.

Keep it on the road. Done a service already, have brakes ordered. Will need to do clutch, as well as get all new suspension - Probably get coilovers but that leaves all the bushes to change.

That modification list is starting to look very impressive Eddie.
And just to think..a few years back...no-one thought that Eddie would ever modify the "red rocket"!

I do and I do. :P

I ran greenstuff with slotted on my LR a while back and could not fault them. Squeaked a tiny little bit but only under light braking. Didn't sound like a bus.

Will be using that combination when the brakes need doing on the 5.

I'm running DBA 4000's all round on my XR5 with braided lines and Hawk pads.

I don't think i'd go hawk pads again, but the rotor and braided line combo is pretty darn nice.

Got one of the XR5 guys to have a few decent goes on the brake pedal and he was quite impressed

With the coming purchase of a house, funiture and a second car I very much doubt I'll be doing anything to my car this year that will be costly.

I've been looking into the costs of detailing the engine bay with a little colour-coding as well as airbrushing the engine cover. Also been looking at getting an old skool backward scoop along with wrc style air vents. Its not just for looks but for improved ventillation into the engine bay in prepriation for the turbo/engine rebuild that I've been talking about for a couple of years now. Unlikly that any of this will happen this yera through.
