The front, rear and inside look good but that side profile looks a tad old. Maybe they're going with a keep-it-simple-stupid mentality? Main points: 93% of the body is an aluminum 320kgs lighter than the old model 2.7L EcoBoost V6 with stop-start introduced Also comes with a 3.5L NA V6, Ecoboost 3.5 V6 and the 5.0L V8 Last edited by Focused; 13-01-2014 at 04:59 PM. |

The 2.7 nano engine finally appears, a lot of hype surrounding these engines.
700 pounds of weight is impressive and should keep Ford on top in this segment for years to come. |

This is a prime example of why the 'one Ford' policy irritates me.
Weather or not it competes with the Ranger,it's about giving the buying public a choice of what they want. It's about time Ford Australia started listening to the buyers rather than telling them what they want/get. |

I read the other day that Nissan Australia had to pay for RHD engineering and development on the Y62 Nissan Patrol, because headoffice wasnt interested.

God forbid a company do what's in it's best interests? Ford is an American company first and foremost. They owe nothing to no country, Australia included. The only people they need to answer to is investors (investers like me, and I'm damn happy with their business model and direction).

Geesus I didn't think they could improve on the original Ecoboost F150....Now all Aluminium hey.....Well i'll be damned!!!!!!!!
Not sure how/why but GM AND Ford are really starting to get serious about their cars and the materials used and the engine technology also. Damn I would love a R/H/D F150 EcoBoost! And now the new one is even better!!!!!!! Last edited by GASWAGON; 13-01-2014 at 06:47 PM. |

So the 2.7 will have more low-end torque than the old 5.4L V8 3 valve. Same torque, but should peak from 2,000 rpm! About 20 more kws too. I don't think these numbers really put into perspective how quick that 2.7 will be though because it's also going to peak higher, more gears, and a much lighter weight. I am guessing 0-100km/h in 7.5-8 seconds for the 2.7L F150.
